Always good to just let the Word speak sometimes, so that’s what we tried to do today, looking first at the verbal forms of “give thanks,” then at the substantival forms, “thanksgiving.” Hopefully a challenging and encouraging study. I did also point out how one text is the death knell for the “Word Faith” movement’s abuse of scripture. Visit the store at https://doctrineandlife.co/ ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLKGQHJPH7A
A quick (well, relatively speaking) DL Short providing a reply to comments from Dr. Dale Tuggy concerning yesterday's DL.

Did a lot of reading again today, reading from the Thanksgiving Psalms from Qumran, from Isaiah and the Psalter, and then moving on to read from Athanasius' Against the Arians regarding the Son's eternal nature. Tomorrow we will be joined by Jason Lisle, so make sure to join us live at 1pm EDT! Visit the store at https://doctrineandlife.co/

I honestly thought it would take about fifteen minutes to cover this three minute video. I was, uh, wrong. Big time. Took the entire hour. But, I wanted to respond to the comments made by Dr. Drew and his panelists (especially when one of them said I was insane) and hopefully in so doing demonstrate the utter emptiness of the secular worldview. Hold onto your hats—if consistency is important to you, listening especially to these two young ladies can be a bit on the frustrating side!

We got started at 11am our time, but, our audio was cutting out like never before, so we bailed, and did it again at 1pm, this time using a completely different way of getting the audio to the net. It worked fine, thankfully. So we looked at John 6 again, this time as Don Johnson tries to insert synergism into the background of the text. Then we looked at the amazing action of the NHS in the UK in setting up a sperm bank primarily geared toward allowing single women, and lesbian “couples,” to produce father-less children. Nothing like begging for God’s judgment! Then we took a number of calls on a variety of topics.

Took a trip down memory lane to tell an “Incarnational Story,” in reality, to look at a key design element of the Prologue of John that has deep and important theological significance. Took a deep breath and didn’t try to rush today, just told stories and wove them into the narrative before discussing the Pope’s spin brigade. Then we talked a bit about the progress on the studio, and the need to debate Pope Francis’ claims in Roman Catholicism as well. An hour and 15 minutes today.

Started off announcing tomorrow’s show with Jeff Durbin, and playing a few clips reminding folks that yes, in fact, the “meme” over the past few weeks has in fact been, “Hey, those Apologia guys held a beer and tattoo fund raiser, and that’s foolishness.” Then I moved over to the David Wood response to Seth Dunn regarding Nabeel Qureshi. I interacted with the video while at the same time illustrating that, yes, believe it or not, Christians can disagree and remain Christians. Hopefully useful!

Not sure a program could have two more different topics, but I managed to pull it off today! Spent the first 55 minutes starting off with a study of Colossians 3:9-11. I then focused upon what this text means as to the proper, biblical basis of Christian unity in the body of Christ. I then made application to the growing promotion of neo-Marxism in the West and, sadly, in the evangelical church as well. Tough topics to cover. Then we completely switched gears and I began a very, very basic introduction to CGBM: Coherence-Based Genealogical Methodology in New Testament textual criticism. Yes, it’s THAT geeky. But, we have folks who like in-depth stuff like that, and I am neck-deep in it in my own studies, so that’s what we did! Enjoy! Visit the store at https://doctrineandlife.co/

We looked at the UN’s strange, Marxist utopian vision in “Equiterra,” and pointed out that a biblical understanding of man exposes the foolishness of this humanistic vision. Then we took some time to dive into Acts 2:23 exegetically in light of the dispute that erupted over Dr. Buice’s comments about the crucifixion. Then we continued our response to Trent Horn’s presentation of Protestant distortions of church history, focusing today especially upon Trent’s attempt to use a citation from Geisler and MacKenzie as an example of just such a “distortion.” This gave us the chance to look at Justin Martyr and his context as well. Almost 90 minutes today. Visit the store at https://doctrineandlife.co/

I’ve never done this before, but these two graphics say almost all that needs to be said. Nearly two hours of interaction with the claims and statements of Steve Camp and Janet Mefferd from Monday’s JM show.
