Snowblower Blues - Throws belt - Craftsman Lawn Tractor
I couldn't keep it working last winter, made an unsuccessful attempt to repair it over the summer but still couldn't keep the belt on when I set it up this winter. So one more attempt to make this worn old unit function again. #Snowblower #Craftsman #LawnTractor ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UG18UtuzFI

Fascia boards have been a constant issue here, and many summers I've had to replace different sections. So I decided to buy vinyl boards in hopes of a long-term solution. The only real drawback is they expand and contract with temperature more than wood.

A visit to the Windmills at Kinderdijk on the second day of the Rhine cruise. This array of wind-driven water pumps pump water to a higher level from one dike to the other. The modern pumping station shown early in the video now backs these up, doing the heavy work when needed.

The first real snow for the 2012-2013 winter. Also a video and audio test of my new Kodak Z5120 and a preliminary review. I bought this a sort of a bridge camera, my Canon A720 is getting a bit dated, but things are changing so fast with HDR and better resolution, that I'm going to wait a few more years till I buy something more upscale. Found this on Ebay for $159 (new), so I pounced on it. Hopefully in a few years Canon will make a camera with a decent frame-rate in 1080p, or Nikon 's point and shoots will get reliable, or someone will get it all together...
Still learning this camera, haven't really looked at the manual much yet. So far
Pros: HD video, pretty good audio, 'AA' batteries 16MP
Cons: Bulk, manual lens cap, mics pick up zoom motor, auto focus in dim light (indoors), audio AGC a bit aggressive.

Had driven by the day before and the engine was stripped to it's frame. But I thought they would be building it back up from that point. But earlier this day I saw the welders cutting it up. Now, in this video, the crane had just finished putting the remains into the dumpsters.

My second best camera got submerged for several minutes at the bottom of my swamped canoe while I tried to rescue belongings and tow the boat to shore. Caught off guard, sitting sideways with the camera on my lap and my dry box open, it took awhile once onshore to pick out all my wet belongings to even find the camera.

After a winter of little snow and a thaw, We got a big dump of heavy wet snow early in March. Then the next weekend it was in the 60s, 70s for the next.

Still another free, quick and simple to make, bird-feeder from stuff grabbed out from the recycle bin. Local bears come by every Spring, hungry from hibernation, and destroy any bird feeders they can find. Such was the fate of my last DIY bird feeder last spring , and this Spring my dollar store one. So simple and free are important features for me. Also one that won't drop seed if simply shaken, so the squirrels don't rob it.
My previous effort,

is still my preferred design but I didn't have that type of container handy at the moment. Plus this is still hungry bear season, so this one may not last long, so this new super simple to make one is all the effort I want to put into this right now.
