Monster Hunter Rise - Part 25 HR Mizutsune (Multiplayer)
This is the high rank fight where the gloves start to come off. Can you stop the "oh crap!" moment in the video? What's worse is that this is an urgent, so we had to do it to increase our rank.
I don't know if Blue had a water weakness with his set (I do with Barroth), so Mizu hits us harder than normal. It also doesn't help that this is the quest where the difficulty jumps back to normal monster hunter levels compared to previous games.
Ultimately, out of the non-rampage stuff, Mizu was the last monster who finally gave up its gem to me. It will be a long time before you get to see that, but once I finally got it, all that was left was the wind dragon gem. I even managed to get the Parafruit before that... ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yg73WwP5aw
Conducting our investigation at the bank, Tio locates the hacker operating in the Geofront, but it is a section that we have not visited before. Picking up the entrance key at City Hall, we head over to the residential areas and enter. The enemies there are fairly simple with the only problem being the self-destructing enemies that include the area boss. Upon finding the hacker, we receive the proper challenge letter and are able to collect the recipe for pizza.

There are a few remaining side quests that we can knock out for a combination of completion's sake and looking for a few extra nuts we can use to boost our stats for the upcoming battle. Most of our gear is pretty much what we will use for the remainder of the game. The only thing we will have left to do is round up the skills we want for Hikari to have.

This is an optional area, but it is necessary to get Rudy's ultimate weapon and I forgot the other piece of ultimate gear here, but there is another. Sadly, neither can be accessed just yet.
This is a decent grinding spot, but surviving it is a little difficult where we are currently. Overall, I had a lot more success farming Duplicators here than trying to steal them or get them as drops from the alien enemies. You can also get Secret Signs among other things here, so make sure to exploit things to their fullest here. I will get Magnum Fang down to a low cost eventually by using this, and the remainder of the Duplicators I need will be coming from here as well. It will break the balance of the game somewhat as I will be leaving here considerably stronger than needed for almost the remainder of the game. It will only be the optional bosses that pose any degree of danger to me.

The highlight of this video is acquiring the firework, as that is one of the 5 items needed to beat the game. Your clue on this comes from the tablet you get from Tao (yes, the dog), which is partially destroyed. You need to translate it with Hager to get some information, then you can decode it to get the sequence you see here. I will show the translated tablet near the end of the playthrough.
Otherwise, we get the Dream Alien which unlocks the Cave Guy shop, where we will get the Octopus item that warps us to the last place we slept. Extremely handy for exploring the desert, and you will see me use these periodically throughout the remainder of the playthrough. Luckily, they are fairly cheap too.
Lastly, we also fish the whale soul out of the fishing hole, which allows you to do a few other quests. We can meet Umi, which unlocks everything Eco Club related, allows the scavenger hunt to be completed, and acquire some additional love. However, we will not be doing that in this video as there is still something we need to get, plus the fact that she is only available on Sunday. Stay tuned...

With the new unlocks acquired, we do the rounds in the lobby area of the Reverie Corridor and get to see how different people are reacting by being able to meet here. This also does mean that the last bits of Vantage Masters have unlocked, so that is something we will need to work on for the next video. I believe Pom Party has been done off camera already, so that means one of the big headaches has been concluded.

We need to get the group back together, and we opt to start where all of the wounded have been congregating, meaning we can check up on a lot of people while we are here. Before we can make our entrance, we touch down at the sandbar and make the rest of the way on foot. From there, we get to explore the hospital and see the condition of Ilya and Donovan before picking up a party member and a member of the Merkabah crew. Now we get to go to another location and do this all over again.

A somewhat straightforward map here, one of which that reflects positively on Kanbei similar to Grit earlier. We need to save some cities in the corner of the map, crossing the open roads before Adder can cross the woods. This is a pre-deployed map, so whatever you have is all you get, so take care about the laser. The good news is that there are openings you can exploit to cross it, but don't take too long, otherwise Adder may get all of the cities before you arrive.

This segment has changed a bit since the old days. There are apparently events in Lavender you need to trigger to move the story forward. Since I didn't know that, I immediately leave Lavender for Celadon and take on the gym there. However, I will need to make a return visit to Lavender in order to unlock the Rocket Hideout since that too has changed.
On a somewhat unrelated note, this will be the last time I abuse the rare acquisitions for progress. Mr. Mime will be staying on the team for a little while, but this will be Charmeleon's only appearance as expecting to get him in the Rock Tunnel may be a little difficult/time consuming to do. The next set of heavy hitters to join the team will be much easier to come across, and they may not entirely be expected...

Blue has joined the fray, and we need to get him up to speed. In order to maximize his hunter rank gains without repeating anything we've already done, we take on Lagombi and Aknosom, neither of which are really any trouble as the time may suggest. Since he is stronger than he should be for this part and Okami has already promoted, I opt to use one of my better guns. You can see how much the damage has improved from previous videos where I tried to maintain parity with the others.
