Let's get this out of the way: There's no unwritten rule on when a remake or remaster drops amongst the general public. It's up to the developer/publisher when they decide to give a projected date. It's a lot of weird statements being thrown around about The Last of Us Part II Remastered. Individuals are either saying that "you can't make a remaster in less than three years" or "you can't do a remake in less than 10." All of these statements have been disproven by other companies well before the TLOU Remake and TLOU Part II Remastered. So today we're going to have a gaming debate on what is deemed as inconsistent energy against the practice of "a remaster done in less than three years." We're going to use facts and objective releases to point out. This has gone beyond logic reasoning in my opinion where individuals won't hold other developers accountable for doing similar things. Let's ask ourselves what is truth and false in the midst of misinformed outrage. It's fine to want specific remasters to be made revolving around your preference to be made, but saying remasters cannot happen in three years or less is f-cking dumb in general. These generalizations about remasters/remakes and these unwritten rules (especially if other devs followed suit on re-releasing a game in the same time window) given to Naughty Dog exclusively needs to end. It's non-sense if you believe that this specific remaster has "ruined gaming" when remasters done this quickly between generations has been a thing for a long awhile now. And it's funnier when nobody said this back then to this magnitude.
