It’s two major verses: Psalm 1:1-3 and Joshua 1:8 These verses have been used to address making whatever you do prosper. Prosperity cometh to the body of Christ on purpose. Make note of that: Knowing the purpose, the power, and the path to prosperity is given to us in God’s Word. 1. The purpose of prosperity is to glorify/magnify God by favoring his righteous cause on earth. (Psalm 35:27 and Jeremiah 33:9) Both of those verses are verses that magnify and glorify God, and when you read them, Psalm 35:27, it talks about those who favors God’s righteous cause. Psalm 35:27 27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. Powerful verse. In Jeremiah 33:9 you see the same thing: that it’s favoring God’s righteous cause. You see that your prosperity will begin to magnify God. Jeremiah 33:9 9 And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it. 2. The Power to get prosperity is holiness and sanctification Now one may not think that holiness and sanctification have anything to do with prosperity, but when you turn to Psalm 1, you find out that it does have something to do with it, that it’s real powerful because prosperity will destroy you if you’re not in alignment with God’s holiness. Psalm 1:1-3 says: 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. So you see? That’s a man with a clean life. The second verse says: 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
