He accompanied "Lady Karababa" to Mount Zhayolm and defeated the Khimaira 13. Back in Al Zahbi, he carried out Aht Urhgan Mission 23: "Social Graces". Now, he will continue the tasks by starting with Aht Urhgan Mission 24: "Foiled Ambition". Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. In his delivery box, he gets back a Water Cluster that did not sell on the auction house. He heads outside. Bastok Mines (time 0:53): Heorot visits Zopago at the Chocobo Sables. He gets the Day 93 and Day 94 status reports for his chocobo, Amber Beauty, and gives her some care. He also visits the auction house and puts the unsold Water Cluster back up for sale. Then, Heorot uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to Aht Urhgan Whitegate, West Aht Urhgan. Aht Urhgan Whitegate (time 6:59): Heorot heads to Salaheem's Sentinels. Before proceeding with Aht Urhgan Mission 24: "Foiled Ambition" after reporting to Naja Salaheem for the previous mission, the player must zone out and also wait until the next Vana'diel day. In Salaheem's Sentinels, a cutscene plays as Heorot approaches Naja Salaheem at I-10. He first meets Naja Salaheem and Abquhbah. Then, he heads outside and meets with "Lady Karababa". Heorot earns 5 Imperial Gold Pieces. A scene also takes place aboard the Black Coffin. Who would have pegged an undead pirate for an art lover? Aht Urhgan Mission 24: "Foiled Ambition" complete! Aht Urhgan Mission 25: "Playing the Part" begins. Heorot must zone and wait for the next Vana'diel day before he meets Naja Salaheem again. At E-9, Heorot exits west to Al Zahbi. Al Zahbi (time 18:52): At L-8, he returns to the Aht Urhgan Whitegate. Aht Urhgan Whitegate (time 19:11): Heorot checks the spell shop at G-7. There are a few spells that might be worth picking up later. When the next Vana'diel day rolls around, Heorot enters Salaheem's Sentinels and talks to Naja Salaheem at I-10. He will be able to ask Abquhbah about a few people. The story continues when Heorot asks about Aphmau. Aht Urhgan Mission 25: "Playing the Part" complete! Aht Urhgan Mission 26: "Seal of the Serpent" begins. Heorot must meet the Grand Vizier at the palace. Before going inside the palace, he must unequip his weapon and shield. Dorwaam (time 3:25): The party takes the teleportal to the lower level of town and enters the Dorwaam Crystal Palace at D-4/D-5. Dorwaam Crystal Palace (time 3:53): The party takes the northern stairway up to floor 2F. They take the door at E-1 to the Laboratory. Within, they talk to Arnia at E-2. Arnia issues Quest 189: "Zam Lesson", the first Sage vocation quest. The prerequisite is to reach Sage Level 10. Heorot must finish off three Pickeerers with the Zam spell in the Caldea Mountain Path between Gatara and Dorwaam. The party goes back down to floor 1F and takes the main gate at F-4/F-5 to leave the palace. Dorwaam (time 6:36): The party Zooms to the Caldea Mountain Path - Mining Quarry destination. Caldea Mountain Path (time 6:46): The party arrives at F-4 outside the Daraz Quarry. They go northwest and cross the bridge to the northern part of the zone. In the northern part of the zone, the party targets Pickeerers (バアラック). They can weaken them however they want, but the protagonist as a Sage must deliver the final blow with the Zam (ドルマ) spell. During the hunt, the party finds the recipes for the Tussler's Top (けんぽうぎ上) and Tussler's Trousers (けんぽうぎ下). These items require Smithing Level 34. Eventually, Heorot finishes off three Pickeerers with the Zam spell. The party Zooms back to the Dorwaam Kingdom. Dorwaam (time 10:49): The party takes the teleportal to the lower level of town and enters the Dorwaam Crystal Palace at D-4/D-5. Dorwaam Crystal Palace (time 11:19): The party takes the northern stairway up to floor 2F. They take the door at E-1 to the Laboratory. Within, they talk to Arnia at E-2. She sends them to pick up something at the pub. The party goes back down to floor 1F and takes the main gate at F-4/F-5 to leave the palace. Dorwaam (time 12:42): The party goes to the southwest of town and enters the pub at B-7. A scene takes place within. A merchant gives them the Magic Skin (魔導の皮) to take to Arnia. Sheryl is also there. The party leaves the pub and enters the Dorwaam Crystal Palace at D-4/D-5. Dorwaam Crystal Palace (time 15:09): The party takes the northern stairway up to floor 2F. They take the door at E-1 to the Laboratory. Within, they talk to Arnia at E-2 and hand over the Magic Skin. Quest 189 complete! The party earns the Sage's Robe Lower (賢者のころも下). After the turn-in, Heorot equips the Sage's Robe Lower. The party talks to Arnia at E-2 again. This triggers a scene with Tiza. Arnia issues Quest 190: "Friend's Whereabouts", the second Sage vocation quest. The prerequisites are to complete Quest 189 and to reach Sage Level 15. The party's next destination is the Dry Well in the Wilderness in the northeast of the Gartland Region. The party goes back down to floor 1F and takes the main gate at F-4/F-5 to leave the palace. Dorwaam (time 19:53): The party Zooms to Gartland Castle Town. Gartland (time 20:03): The party exits north at D-1/E-1 to the Gartland Region. Gartland Region (time 20:21): In the northeast, the party enters the Dry Well in the Wilderness (荒野の枯れ井戸) at G-4. Dry Well in the Wilderness (time 21:23): As the party enters the well, a scene with Arnia takes place. A Phantom Fencer shows up! After the scene, it is boss time against the Phantom Fencer (ぼうれい剣士). Its abilities include Funereal Fource, Falcon Slash, and Lightning. Not a major problem for my party. In fact, Hussar is ready with a Coup de Grâce. At the end of the battle, the Phantom Fencer provides a base of 800 experience points. Another scene takes place after the battle. Sheryl shows up. The next objective is to report to Arnia at the Dorwaam Crystal Palace. Upon regaining control, the party uses the rope at B-4/B-5 to leave the well.
