“It is time to walk a different path. This path is not about accumulating stuff. It’s not about money and power. It’s not about dominating other living beings. And it has nothing to do with anger and hate. No, walking this path is simply about living, experiencing, and caring about this precious life and this abundant world. It is a holistic experience for the body, mind and spirit. It is about recognizing, sensing, and exchanging energy with the natural world around us and feeling that energy reciprocated.” - Aaron Hoopes
Even if you can't or don't want to leave your comfortable urban life, get out there and be wild every now and then. By regularly doing that, you will be reminded of how much nature means to us, how much solace it can bring, how much joy and peace and hope. You will be reminded of how deeply we are connected to all living things. Dance with life!

'A good well lived life is one where you're able to pursue your passions and do something you feel strongly about. Rehabilitation is just the most exciting thing. When you see an animal just doing what it does and engaging with you, priorities really do get put in place.' - Talitha Noble
Talitha works in the Turtle Rehabilitation Unit at Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town, South Africa. She nurses sick or injured turtles back to health, and then releases them into the wild again. Thanks for all that you do for these beautiful creatures Talitha.

We all get scrapes and bruises. We all have scars. And each of these little marks make us more human in some small way. They are a reminder of what our body has seen and what our body has endured.
Aniek is an incredible woman who, after a traumatic incident in her childhood that left her severely scarred, has found a way to embrace her body and the skin that she is in. This is a story about vulnerability, resilience, courage and beauty.

Psychiatrist Carl Jung is noted for saying: "What you resist, persists."
We all have the power of choice in life. We can resist what we don't like in the hope that it will go away. Or we can accept things the way they are and make space for something new and different to transpire, simply by being in the flow of who we are and what is happening around us. And when we surrender to what is, we allow the true beauty of life to unfold. This magical space is where joy lives, and where gratitude can be found.
Life is precious when we align with the magic in surrender.

Part of the amazing thing about being a human being is that we are able to have a wide range of emotions.
Think of your feelings as waves on the ocean. They come and go, rise and fall. No feeling lasts forever, and anger and sadness are necessary, helpful parts of the human experience. But when we try to suppress these emotions, we are unable to truly thrive as people. Part of having a full life is feeling all of your emotions. It is beaming with joy, and feeling like your heart is full of gratitude during some moments. It is also experiencing heartbreak and disappointment and truly letting yourself sit with these feelings.
All of our emotions contain gifts and help us to truly grow as people. You deserve to let yourself experience all of your emotions, and to treat yourself with kindness and care.

In our modern, long-hours culture, we place a high value on career and success. So it’s not surprising that retirement is seen as an end, rather than the start of something new.
But it’s a mistake to think that you have to have a job to be productive or fulfilled. Many people achieve much more when they retire than they ever did at work, finally having the time to pick up on their interests, and be true to their passions.
Retirement is a state of mind rather than something that starts at a certain age. And life doesn’t need to close or end. In fact, it can open up in surprising and healing ways. And it can also be a journey of discovery and adventure. Go into it with curiosity about yourself and embrace the possibilities that open up to you.

We've become so reliant on our words - we've allowed language to get in the way - we've forgotten that there are so many ways to communicate.
Animals, especially horses, understand our intentions and are able to communicate with us without needing to use words.
After a series of strokes, Gary was left unable to speak. But this didn't stop him from communicating. Through his relationship with his horses, we learn that we are more than just our words!
"Animals have so much to teach us about true communication, if only we were willing to listen." - Lisa Smith
