Singapore is famous for chicken rice. So I spent 2 months and SGD$5000, went to 100 chicken rice stalls (criteria for stalls is need to have more than 10 Google Reviews at the point of filming) across the whole Singapore to eat and rate the chicken rice to determine the 4 best chicken rice in Singapore. I also bought an extra packet of chicken rice from each stall to send to an accredited laboratory for E.coli testing. E.coli is a common intestinal bacteria present in human and animal gut. The presence of E.coli in food means the food handler is not hygienic. The usual E.coli strains does not cause health problem in healthy human, but it also should not appear in food. Because some strains of E.coli causes severe food poisoning and even kidney failure. Singapore's Food Agency's food safety criteria stated that any ready to eat food should have less than 100 CFU per gram of E.coli. For every chicken rice stall that we went to, we ordered the breast meat for a fair comparison across all chicken rice stalls. This is because chicken thigh is more tender than chicken breast, so if a stall could do chicken breast well, then the other parts would be better. I have rated the chicken rice according to: chicken tenderness, rice fragrance, chilli, soup to give an overall rating. We ordered Hakka style braised pork rice, Taiwan friend chicken, spinach, milk tea and osmanthus plum juice. I feel that the food is not bad, but it's a bit pricey. And I personally prefer general Taiwan style braised pork rice. If Taiwan opens its border to foreigners, what will you eat first when you reach Taiwan?
