New Leaf Journal editors N.A. Ferrell and Victor V. Gurbo had not played Pokémon in months. On May 30, 2021, they had an online battle in order for N.A. Ferrell to test his new Switch recording device. The recording worked as planned. The battle was decent, although both trainers showed their rust. N.A. Ferrell is Celia and Victor V. Gurbo is NIXON.
