Despite FreeBSD having a huge collection of software, there will always be a port or two that you miss especially if you are coming over from another OS.
So here are 5 'Most Wanted' ports from suggestion in the Wanted List, User Comments on this channel and some I have felt would benefit FreeBSD....
Have you got some you would to see? If you have, then drop a few in the comments below...

Two more quick tips, this time a quick how to add colour to the FreeBSD boot text, and then 3 random system tweaks that have helped me over the years.

In response to a query regarding wifi and FreeBSD, here is a tip on adding
wifi to an already installed FreeBSD based OS, in this case it is NomadBSD which was installed previously using ethernet. The only wifi device I have access to is the TP-Link TL-WN823N. I will get a later USB stick later and try out a '802.11ac' stick. I cannot guarantee that all USB wifi or in-built wifi adapters will work, but if they are compatible, then you should be fine.

The commands used in this video:
sysctl net.wlan.devices
edit /etc/rc.conf
wlans_rtwn0="wlan0"
ifconfig_wlan0="WPA SYNCDHCP"
edit /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -
network={
ssid="your wifi connection name"
psk="your password or pass key here"
}
ping 8.8.8.8

A quick look at what is available early 2021 for FreeBSD when it comes to photo editors, some are dedicated and others 'can' be used.... just 9, I know you can use more, so if you know of them, please list them below.... let's show those Windows/Mac/Linux users that we can do this as well :-)

This is a video inspired by a subscriber (sorry forgot who it was, please remind me!) who suggested it would be cool if a comparison video was made for Gnome 3 vs KDE 5 Plasma in terms of which was the heaviest, well here it is ;-) Skip 8:20 to the results if you can't wait....
It's not scientific, just an observation of the accumulative memory use of adding perhaps a widely used set of programs.

A new version of GhostBSD dropped on my doorstep (figuratively) and I was compelled to have a look by cosmic forces beyond my comprehension - or rather I couldn't wait to see what was new in this great FreeBSD based OS!
Is it Good. Bad or Indifferent? Let's have a look...

In this video we will be looking at how we can find out some information about our systems CPU without the need to open up and start poking around....
-----------------------------------------
sysctl -a | egrep -i 'hw.machine|hw.model|hw.ncpu'
sysctl hw.model hw.machine hw.ncpu
getconf LONG_BIT
sysctl hw.clockrate
grep -i cpu /var/run/dmesg.boot
sysctl -a | grep -i cpu | less
dmidecode -t 4

A look at and fumble with a Graphical House/Home Design Planner on FreeBSD. SweetHome3D.
Might be useful if you are *ahem* building your own home or simply wanting to redesign your existing space.
