JhaJa Shopping Day June 20 2018 Bulacan, Philippines. Buying fruit, rice, etc. See around with us!
Filipina JhaJa & American Aaron travel around Philippines to learn how impoverished people and communities survive. For many children, collecting glass and plastic bottles is their livelihoods. Many not only support themselves, but also their parents, or younger siblings. Many use bottle collection as a way to put themselves through school as well. They are to be saluted, as many are tempted to street life of begging.
Although it's natural to want to give a bit of money or offer them food, in the long-run, it just encourages them to accept street life and never pursue any dreams or goals. The kids who find a way to earn money are often working towards other goals. We will be uploading a video with interviews of these kids as well as dump scavenger children, who live their lives based on what they find at the garbage dumps. These videos coming soon!
The more people who watch, share, like and follow, the more children we can bring basic necessities to...such as food, basic first aid, clothing and school supplies. As 'Wander By Us' we travel around the Philippines to small, impoverished communities and seek to empower these groups in finding ways they may support themselves in a more fulfilling way. Often focusing and capitalizing on their local arts, crafts and talents.
