The Muscadine Grapes Are Still Standing Strong After Enduring The Harsh Summer Heat! #muscadine
The Muscadine Grapes Are Still Standing Strong After Enduring The Harsh Summer Heat! I absolutely love muscadine grapes. Earlier this year they had thousands of blooms and then the heat wave hit. They shed most of those blooms and i was worried there wasn't going to be any left. But a few more weeks of heat wave in June and July and the last 2 weeks has been a lot of rain. They seemed to have bounced back ok. I just wonder what else 2023 holds in store for us? ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-sJe04S0vE
Sometimes we have to make hard homestead decisions in life and we have to make those decisions before anything suffers. This was one of those times where the goat herd just got to be too hard to manage by myself and I was getting behind. People don't realize how much time it takes to manage a goat herd, trimming hoofs, disbudding kids, giving cd&t shots, deworming them, milking them, cleaning out goat barns, keeping them fed and watered, and spending time with them .... and thats not even everything. After my cancer treatment ended, in some way I thought every day I would get better and stronger and back to being me but its been 6 months and not much has changed .... things have actually gotten worse in some ways. So I had to make that tough decision to find ways to free up some of my time and take some of the load off of my plate and as much as I hated to do it, getting rid of most of the goats was the obvious way .... when compared to all the things I do on the homestead, managing the goats took the most time. It won't always be like this but for now it was the best decision and I know some people are going to hate me for it but this isn't your life and its not your homestead which you can both manage the ways you see fit.

Ive met a lot of people who think potato plants need to be standing up in order to hill them. Some people even won't grow potatoes for that reason because they think its too much work in smaller gardens and maybe they feel they don't have enough soil to grow them properly. Some people have switch to other methods of growing potatoes. Instead of growing them in ground, they grow them in feed bags, large pots or containers, and some people even use a variation of the compost bins made from pallets. They all do this for the exact same reason, space available and soil required to hill them. So this tip is a method i have used for many years that works perfectly. Hope you enjoy, don't forget to like and subscribe.

My fig winterizing fig trees method works. This is the second follow up video showing new growth starting to form. If you have fig trees and harsh winters, you can keep your figs from dying back all the way to the ground for minimal costs and time. I will link to the previous videos below:

I recently had posted about purple dead nettle on my instagram account and went over its properties, identification, etc. It is one of the first plants to pop up in late march or early april in my northern kentucky location. I try to know at minimum 10 wild edible plants neaer me for every month of the year and this is always one I enjoy. It also has a wide range of medicinal uses too.
You are responsible for your own plant identification and usage!

I have used this system for a few years now, and although I have many other stoves and pots, this is the one I use nearly every time. It doesn't matter if I am doing hiking, survival, bushcraft, or prepper type stuff. The lightweight and compact size makes it easy to carry anywhere and the option of using biomass, denatured alcohol, or esbit tablets makes it extremely versatile.
I have added the Evernew Titanium DX stand, evernew titanium stove, and the much cheaper kit (which includes both the stand and the stove) along with the gsi haulite minimalist pot to my amazon store to make this easy for you to purchase.
Buying from the amazon store allows me to continue to purchase more gear for review. I pay for all the gear you see in my videos our of my own pocket and I will never give a fake review just because gear was free.

over a month ago, maybe closer to two months, this rabbit got out of the cage. i would try to catch him and he would come up to me then when id reach down he will just run. He did the same thing with my sister. I'm not in any shape to chase him so didn't. Eventually he stopped running and I'd put him back in the cage and the next day he would be out again. He would run up to me as soon as I'd check on the animals in the morning like "see, I'm out again .... na na, nah nah, nahhhhh, nahhhhh" Eventually i realized he just likes his freedom. Now we get along great. To be honest, im surprised a coyote, hawk, or eagle hasn't gotten him.....maybe he has them fooled too.
