Recycle and Salvage Nothing Goes to Waste In the Philippines
I see trikes all the time loaded with used boards, bottles, stone, broken tile and blocks and plastic and glass bottles. If it has value it is reused. I was walking and noticed these young men tearing apart an old couch to nail the boards together to make a pole to support an add-on roof. These guys are friends of Daryl's and when they saw me they called me over. Sometimes the young guys will get together and goon recycle runs.going door to door for papers or for plastic and glass bottles. Many of the drink and beer bottles have deposit on them. The bottle all have a 5php deposit. The several bottles are marked property of .. then the distributors name. Plastic bottles are melted and reused in plastic products.

This video has a complementary 'conversation with Myra' that will be posted. It seems to be much more practical than a voice over.
To replant the Cassava, the leaves are removed from the stem. The stem is then cut into sections about 6 to 8 inches long. They are then stuck in the ground. They are very easy to start. You just put them in the ground rain or dry and in about a week they will start baring leaves. Six months later they are ready to harvest. The tenacity of this plant to survive and flourish in the harsh dry environment as well as the monsoon season what makes it a viable food source.

Myra's trip to Bohol, to visit her family was her first vacation. She got to visit her relatives with no one to look after. She got a chance to make videos and be a tourist in her own country.
