*About the Engineer Stan Ricker*
US recording, mastering and lacquer-cutting engineer, born in Marblehead, MA, on Dec. 14, 1935.
Known for cutting vinyl at half speed (hence the SR2 or SR/2 for "Stan Ricker 1/2).
Mr. Ricker was owner/engineer at Stan Ricker Mastering, a musician (acoustic and electric bass and tuba, 67 yrs). He earned his BME from the University of Kansas. For over 48 years, his path took him through teaching, performing, conducting, recording, producing, engineering and mastering many projects. Stan Ricker was well known for his keen hearing and attention to details that some others simply do not understand. "The difference REALLY is in the details," was Mr. Ricker's mantra.
Stan Ricker was voted "Disk Cutting Engineer of the Year" in 1981 by "Playboy Readers Poll" and was voted "Recording Engineer of the Year" in 1984.
