One of the first games I decided to look at made with Open Surge, which turned out to be cool. Speedy the Rollerskater is a Sonic-style platform game! The Open Surge engine pulls off the Sonic feel quite well. There's a decent amount of of stages in this mod too! You can tell there's some missing features (bosses aren't here yet) but I was impressed by what's here for the first demo! Watch out Sonic, there's a new hedgehog in town! This is Red 2D Adventure, a Sonic fan game where you can choose between Sonic, who plays nice and traditional, and Red, who has BOOST. Yes, Red has boost but not Sonic... these development decisions are why I play fan games xD but don't get me wrong, Red 2D Adventure looks and feels quite promising despite being such an early demo! Overall, this was short but sweet Though it's an alpha demo, this is the farthest the project will probably go. That's because this project has since went on to become Sonic Metal Adventure. Oh hey, it's Sonic Pocket Adventure for the Neo Geo Pocket Color, that one Sonic game I always heard about but never got to play. But that problem has been solved (kind of) with this HD remake! Made with the epic Open Sonic SMS engine, this fan game is quite short, good level design so far though! There's a lot of potential for more, and what's here so far is promising.
