#135 Biggest canvas ever! Dramatic sunset. Painting Clouds and Trees with Commentary. New 2021
Hi Everybody! This is the biggest canvas I have ever painted! It is 36" x 84" that's 3 feet by 7 feet! This commission took quite a number of days to complete, but it was well worth it. I love it, and my clients loved it too. Yaya! You can see me work on the clouds with up close shots and finish the whole painting with the addition of some trees.

Enso, also known as the Zen circle, is a captivating and profound symbol in the realm of art, particularly in Japanese calligraphy and Zen Buddhism. It holds significant meaning and embodies a range of philosophical and spiritual concepts.
Enso is a simple, single brushstroke circle, typically drawn in one fluid motion with black ink on white paper. Despite its apparent simplicity, the enso carries a deep symbolism that captures the essence of enlightenment, imperfection, and the interconnectedness of all things.
In Japanese calligraphy, creating an enso requires focus, concentration, and a deep understanding of the self. The brushstroke reflects the artist's state of mind, making each enso unique and expressive. It is not about achieving a perfect circle but rather embracing the beauty of imperfection and spontaneity. The empty space within the circle is as crucial as the ink stroke itself, representing the void, openness, and limitless potential.
The enso's symbolism extends beyond the artistic realm and finds its roots in Zen Buddhism. It embodies the concept of "mu" or "emptiness" in Zen philosophy, suggesting that all existence arises from and returns to emptiness. The enso represents the interconnectedness of all things, the cyclical nature of life and death, and the unity of opposites—such as chaos and order, creation and destruction, and form and formlessness.
Moreover, the enso serves as a visual reminder of the impermanence and transience of existence. It captures the fleeting nature of the present moment and encourages mindfulness and presence in one's actions and thoughts. It invites individuals to let go of attachments and embrace the ever-changing flow of life.
Throughout history, countless artists have been inspired by the enso and incorporated it into their artistic expressions. Some artists create enso as standalone works of art, while others incorporate it into larger compositions or combine it with other symbols or elements. The enso's versatility allows it to transcend cultural boundaries, influencing artists around the world.
In contemporary art, the enso continues to inspire and intrigue. Artists explore various mediums, including painting, sculpture, digital art, and installation, to create their interpretations of the enso. They experiment with colors, textures, and materials, offering new perspectives on this ancient symbol while honoring its core principles.
The enso's enduring appeal lies in its ability to evoke a sense of tranquility, mindfulness, and interconnectedness. It invites viewers to contemplate the infinite possibilities within the empty space and reflect on their own existence and place in the universe. Whether as a traditional calligraphic circle or a contemporary reinterpretation, the enso remains a powerful symbol that resonates deeply with both artists and art enthusiasts alike.

Dare I say Day 5 of my Daily Challenge was my favourite!?!
I created this abstract acrylic dutch pour with plain water and paint. All I did was mix paint with enough water to make a runny consistency. These abstract acrylic pours are fun and quick especially when it's on a small canvas like this one.
I love the result and mix of colours. I used, gold, bronze mixed with a touch of black and white.
I even got beautiful lacing! Yay! It reminds me of chocolate and caramel .....yum!
This type of fluid art is amazing. You can never get the same result twice. Always unique. Always different. Even a beginner can get fabulous results.
I had fun with my 1 a day for 5 day challenge! Do you want to see more?

I love that even with a mini painting you can create beautiful abstract art! This fun and easy swipe technique for beginners will give you a beautiful abstract mini painting. Now, you don't have to keep it mini....try it on a larger scale on canvas, and you'll get the same results.
This abstract acrylic fluid pour painting is a fun and easy way to start painting. The swipe technique is easy enough for beginners and you'll get fabulous results.
I show you the colors I used as well as the ratio of paint to pouring medium.
Try it out and let me know what your results are, but the most important thing is to have fun doing it! Enjoy the process!
By the way, I have shown you the colors I like, but you can tweak this combo and add a color you prefer.
It's fun to see what happens...abstract art is like that...especially because it's a fluid pour painting.
