Can I get back to the USA in under 24 hours? Sightseeing in Romania before running to the airport.
Four flights, 24-26 hours (on paper) and a Tropical Storm on the East Coast. I finished up my trip in Romania and show you some of the highlights before I start the long trip across Europe on my way back to Washington. Watch along and see if I can do the whole thing in under 24 hours. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuvgQDb0kJ8
Took my normal hike though I didn't want to before heading down to buy some things I didn't want but really needed.

UPDATE: After reexamining some old videos, some of these 'new' fences were actually there before, but they have now been reinforced and tied together with 'new new' fences that were added yesterday along with 'bike racks' to block some access points. They also put in some 'new new' fences to areas that were previously open with the old fence. Just wanted to clarify. Thanks to those who pointed this out in the comments.
The first rule of government is never throw away anything unless you have made a copy of it first, and that seems to apply to the White House grounds as well where the fences that were removed yesterday have now been replaced with smaller, but just as restrictive fences today. Access to the Ellipse, which I was able to visit yesterday, is once again prohibited this morning as I made my way around the area South of the White House grounds. The sidewalks are now blocked with new bike racks, and this small black fence (some of which was there before) now has some added sections.
We also managed to walk around Tidal Basin where the Cherry Blossoms are getting ready to bloom, but just aren't there yet. I then scooter down on the Wharf (with no audio due to copyright) and visit the Titanic Memorial on the waterfront.

PenguinSix is an apolitical guy in a political town who likes to walk a lot. He has hiked over 17,000 miles (27,000kms) in the past six years and is still walking today. He is an American expat who spent the last decade in Hong Kong with his family and is now back in Washington DC, continuing his daily ritual of taking very long hikes around the city catching the sights and sounds of the city while live streaming to share with others. History, culture, life as an expat (with reverse culture shock), and the pitiful Chinese food in Washington DC are regular topics of discussion. A pretty quiet Saturday but we did catch on of Texas Governor Abbott's buses arriving at the Vice President's house before I ran down to the White House to cover the arrival of Marine One.

Didn't have much exciting planned today but I woke up to hear an officer-involved shooting at the Embassy of Peru involving the Secret Service and a burglar. After getting a bit lost, I managed to make it to the neighborhood in question but couldn't see much. I then went to take another look at the Federal Reserve building renovation as some of you were asking to see that, before taking a leisurely walk around the White House where I managed to see Biden's new dog Commander staring at a tractor.

I had lots of other things to do today (which I did) so this is a very short video of a few helicopters I happened to see fly by Washington while I was in town. I spent most of the day in mud and grass and sweat working on my house, but thought you might like to see a few of these Presidential helicopters making their way up the Potomac to Camp David.
