The Diablo 3 Surprise (Part 1)
This session of gameplay represents something I never ever thought I would do. As the title indicates, this is me playing Diablo 3. Turns out Diablo 3 joins the ranks of Resident Evil 6 and Final Fantasy XIII as a game that is, at least somewhat, playable by the blind. It takes patience, and yes there is plenty of wandering here, but there is also progress. Yeah, sighted people may need to help with equipping gear and skills, but once you're set, you're set, and the game can be navigated. This is not your typical Resident Evil 6 playlist. This is Resident Evil 6 played by a couple blind people to demonstrate 2 primary things. First, the patience we have with video games we love because we love them. Second, I hope it makes some question how difficult blind accesibility really is, considering this game is almost completely playable by accident. Here is the complete playthrough of the story mode for Madden 2018, called Longshot. This playthrough uses the accessibility guide written for the blind and, while there were definitely some stumbling blocks along the way, I must say i had a really fun experience with a great story mode. There will likely be a second run through of this story later with alternate choices made, but I'm unsure if I should stream that as well. This is a raucusly fun time with the Jackbox Party Pack 4, a series of video games that are actually relatively blind accessible despite themselves. For those who don't know, you actually control the games via a web browser. In the cases where buttons and edit boxes are labeled correctly, (and for the most part they are in these games), this actually makes for a very accessible party gaming experience. Even got a few folks to join us during this crazy time, including my former boss. The conversations with myself you'll hear during this video are mostly the result of his entering comments in chat.
