Actually the Touran ran fine on its 40 kWh Nissan battery but the sheer existence of a battery pack that would fit in that elegantly made me take on that project. Secondly Europe's chargins network is growing but mainly with CCS connectors. For one year I drove E-Touran with a 24 kWh battery pack over a distance of 15000 km. A pack that small meant I had to stop and recharge every 80 km.
