Watch my newest youtube video if you wanna see me do the trapeze act of openly criticizing Israel's Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his extremist government, the IDF forces' treatment of (or imo lack of human rights given by the IDF to) Palestinians, and treatment of human rights as a whole, while simultaneously trying not to add to worldwide anti-Semitic stereotypes, assumptions, and hate that have been empowered due to antisemitism hiding as anti-Israel critique, all while trying to recognize the humanity in both sides but still openly call out people like Netanyahu and Itmar Ben G'vir for their extremist tactics and (in my opinion) racist practices. I've been trying to make videos about this and many other important worldwide topics for a few months now, but I ran out of time due to an upcoming vote to take away power from the Supreme Court of Israel, so I felt the need to make and release this video as soon as possible. I'm deeply disturbed by the Israeli government's practices and actions of recent and overtime and pray for a day where I can be proud to see true equal treatment of all people in Israel and Palestine. Also, none of my critiques of Israel dismiss the Palestinian government's own bad practices, corruption, and human rights abuses, as well as extremist groups in Palestine, but I am mainly focused on criticizing Israel because I see Israel as a country I expect to be held to higher standards due to how much Israel has been praised as a democracy in the Middle East, despite Netanyahu's choice to try to delegitimize its democratic process. Also, despite not saying it in the video, I wanted to point out that I don't in any way see individual IDF forces as evil or morally unjust, I have just as much critique for them as I have The US military and all other country's forces, I simply see them as an apparatus for the Israeli leadership's choices and am deeply disturbed by the leadership's choices. I know a few friends from high school who joined the IDF, and from my memory of them know them to be fantastic people: Therefore, it gives me hope that some, if not a lot of people in the IDF, try to treat citizens of both countries with respect, but that hope can only counterbalance so much discrimination. I stand with and support any forces protesting Netanyahu's practices, such as the reservists protesting along with tons of other Israelis, And I hope the protests lead towards A more realistic two state solution. I understand if you're thrown off by this message since a lot of my friends are either strongly pro-Israel or strongly anti-Israel, and it might seem like I'm Not picking a side, so just to make it clear, I am definitively deciding to Throw my support behind criticizing Israel in a more intense manner than criticizing Palestine. No matter the reasonable critiques for Palestine available, they cannot live up to the Israeli governments' abuses that even the Israeli Supreme Court has recognized.
