Tom welcomes back Jeffrey Christian Managing Partner of the CPM Group to discuss their latest report on gold and why the world is shifting towards higher gold prices. He expects the geopolitical situation with Ukraine to largely be resolved by the second half of this year. He remains bullish on gold because the world is facing numerous issues. Jeff discusses some of what he calls strange beliefs around gold. Many believe the price should be much higher despite having few good solid reasons for that belief. When various commodities are compared against the gold you see that gold is operating in the expected price range. The gold market is fairly complex with Central banks being a large factor along with banks and big firms having a short-term effect on prices. Central banks tend to have no time horizon on their holdings. While retail investors often have a larger effect on price due to volume and the sheer number of participants. Their yearbook compares and contrasts the price of gold with Fed rates and commodities and inflation rates. He expects interest rates to rise to the three percent level and that inflation will contract. He doesn't expect rate hikes to hurt the economy. Food prices are going to be elevated for at least a year. This is due to the conflict in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed on Russia impacting grain and fertilizer supply. Jeff expects another recession between 2024 and 2026. They are bullish on platinum in the long term while bearish on palladium. There seems to be a shift back to platinum in the automobile market. Jeff discusses the Rubles drop and recovery and how they set a floor on gold for internal purchases within Russia. Much of the Ruble's move is due to Gasprom bank purchasing rubles with Euros in the market. Jeffrey discusses the United States auditing process for their gold holdings work. Much of that gold has been sealed in vaults and drums. The audits regularly verify these seals. Jeff argues against the idea that America's gold has been secretly leased or rehypothecated. He explains how inflation will unfold and why central banks regularly miss their targets. If they stop printing money, you will see a collapse in asset bubbles and a depression unlike any of us have seen. They can't control inflation with more inflation. Mr. Pento explains why worldwide central banks are already effectively conducting yield curve control. Michael believes a lot of debt is threatening to collapse, and the markets are incredibly fragile. The entire financial system could shutdown over what should be minor issues. He explains their current fund allocation and why gold has a proven history, and why they are currently not holding any gold assets. A fiscal and monetary cliff is arriving this year which will be very dangerous for the stock markets. Tom welcomes back Gareth Soloway, President, CEO, and Chief Market Strategist for InTheMoneyStocks. Gareth explains why inflation is coming, but only after the economy completes reopening where we will likely experience a stagnant or contracting economy. It's good for gold but not suitable for stocks and the economy. He doesn't see how why the Fed would stop money printing and stimulus. Therefore, the pressure will continue to be on the stagflationary side, and deflation seems unlikely. The Fed is rather cornered once inflation starts to run away on them. In that scenario, they will have a hard time raising rates. Long-term assets like gold and bitcoin will benefit from the stimulus and dollar decline. However, there will likely be another drop in bitcoin when the system deleverages. It's always important to have something that protects you in the event of catastrophic market problems. Currently, gold has a better outlook for wealth preservation than the dual-use nature of silver. Silver tends to outperform when the economy is doing better. Watch the inflation numbers and yields as this will be the driver for the metals. You want to evaluate the long-term numbers and be skeptical of any narrative the Fed tries to create. He discusses Bitcoins sideways consolidation and where he expects it to head. On short-term trades, volume is important to watch, and Gareth explains what he looks for during different parts of the trading day. He explains why it's essential to check for confirmation when a trend line breaks, especially on heavy volume. Gareth discusses where he sees opportunities, including some Chinese stocks.
