He has earned a total of 310 Job Points as Red Mage. In this video, he will go to Fei'Yin to continue grinding as Black Mage. Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. In his delivery box, he receives gil for an Earth Cluster and three Riftborn Boulders that sold at auction. Thank you to the buyers! Heorot changes his main job to Level 95 Black Mage with White Mage as support job. He puts an item away in his Mog Safe. Heorot exits to Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 1:42): Heorot teleports to Home Point #1 in Fei'Yin, Fauregandi. Fei'Yin (time 2:10): Heorot arrives at Home Point #1 at K-8 on the upper floor of Fei'Yin. He summons his Trust NPCs. In the northeast of Fei'Yin, Heorot hunts Balayang bats. While they are Level 95+, they are not aggressive and do not link. In the course of grinding, Heorot reaches Black Mage Level 96. When Heorot has finished grinding for now, he uses Home Point #1 at K-8 to teleport to Port Jeuno. Port Jeuno (time 56:58): Heorot trades his Crests to Shami at H-8 for storage. Then, he teleports to Bastok Markets. Bastok Markets (time 58:36): Heorot trades his Copper A.M.A.N. Voucher to Isakoth at E-11. In Mjoll's Goods, he sells his loot to Olwyn at E-11. Then, Heorot teleports to Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 1:00:29): At the auction house, Heorot puts a stack of Wind Crystals and three Riftborn Boulders up for sale. Afterwards, Heorot enters the residential area. Now, he will get started on Bastok Mission 1-3: "Fetichism". Mog House: Heorot resumes in his Mog House in Bastok. He checks his delivery box and receives payment for crystals that he put up on auction. Heorot changes his main job to Level 24 Red Mage and his support job to White Mage, then reequips himself. When he is all set, he heads outside. Port Bastok (time 2:56): Heorot uses the nearby Home Point to teleport to the Bastok Markets. Bastok Markets (time 3:16): Heorot visits the Dragon's Claws weapon shop at F-10. From Zhikkom, he purchases a Degen, a Level 20 sword. Heorot talks to Rabid Wolf, I.M., to get his Signet renewed. Then, he talks to Cleades at D-11. He signs up for Mission 1-3: "Fetichism". The Quadav have taken control of the Palborough Mines. Heorot must hunt Quadav and bring back a Quadav Fetich Head, a Quadav Fetich Torso, a pair of Quadav Fetich Arms, and a pair of Quadav Fetich Legs. Fortunately, Heorot already has two parts of the set from defeating Quadav in the Konschtat Highlands: a Quadav Fetich Head and a Quadav Fetich Torso. You may be able to find Fetich parts at the auction house. In the northern part of the Bastok Markets, Heorot visits Sororo's Scribe and Notary at H-5. From Zaira, he picks up a Scroll of Fire and a Scroll of Blizzard. He uses these scrolls to learn the Black Magic spells Fire and Blizzard. From Sororo, he picks up a Scroll of Shell. He uses it to learn the White Magic spell Shell. Heorot uses the nearest Home Point to teleport to Port Bastok. Port Bastok (time 9:46): Heorot heads out the North Gate at L-7 to North Gustaberg. North Gustaberg (time 10:21): Heorot traverses North Gustaberg. The exit to the Palborough Mines is at K-3 in the north of the zone. Palborough Mines (time 17:05): At the Palborough Mines, Heorot discovers a problem: he forgot to buy the map of the mines! To make matters worse, there is not a Survival Guide in here. He will have to run all the way back to Bastok to get a map. So, Heorot turns around and leaves. North Gustaberg (time 17:53): Heorot tries to use his Return Ring to teleport to the Outpost in North Gustaberg, but it does not work, as Gustaberg is under Windurst's control. I wonder if the high-level monsters in the Zeruhn Mines are why Gustaberg keeps falling under foreign control. On the way back to Port Bastok, Heorot checks out Zegham Hill. Their inventory for consumables and materials now has 150 slots. They also crafted some new gear with the Fun-Size Forge. Now, they will work on the fifth and final quest in the Thief vocation line for Heorot. Then, they will do the quest to unlock the Mini Medal Exchange. Glen (time 0:25): The party resumes in the church in Glen. Heorot equips his cosmetic Thief's Set. Outside, the party Zooms to Gatara. Gatara (time 2:36): The party talks to Darul in the pub. She tells them to visit Budecho in his house. In the house at F-7 in the southeastern square, the party talks to Budecho. Budecho issues Quest 158: "The Thief King's Yearning". This requires completing the prior quest, 157, and reaching Thief Level 30. Heorot must pick up a Mugger's Mask accessory at Gatara's armour shop. Then, he must go to the Hot Sand Cave in East Gobul Desert to encounter Gasmon. Before he can defeat the enemy for good, he must steal its Gasmon Heart while equipped with the Mugger's Mask. The party goes to the armour shop in town. They pick up a couple of Mugger's Masks (かいとうの仮面) for 1,200 gold apiece, and Heorot and Daston equip them. Also, at the weapon shop, they pick up a Feline Fan (ネコのおうぎ), which Fura equips. The party deposits some gold at the bank. With the Fun-Size Forge, they upgrade Fura's Feline Fan to +3. Heorot also updates his cosmetic Thief's Set to show the Mugger's Mask for awhile. The party Zooms to the Oasis Caravan in East Gobul Desert. East Gobul Desert (time 9:51): The party arrives at the Oasis Caravan at E-4/F-4. They make their west. At D-5, they enter the Hot Sand Cave (熱砂洞). Hot Sand Cave (time 10:32): In the Hot Sand Cave, a scene with Chamul takes place. The big gas bag, Gasmon, shows up ... and divides. After the scene, it is boss time against Gasmon (ギャスモン). At the start of the battle, there are two of them. Their physical attacks are not that powerful. However, they can reduce individual party members' attack power with Blunt and confuse them with Fuddle. They also have dark breath that can inflict Curse to multiple party members. When one Gasmon has been defeated, a third appears in battle. First things first, the player must steal the Gasmon Heart from one of the Gasmons while equipped with the Mugger's Mask. Then, it is time to get to work. Daston's ability Junk Stroke (ポンコツなで) cures another party member's status ailments, so that can be useful. Curse is debilitating. Not only does it sap a party member's HP, but it also occasionally prevents them from acting. After the battle, another scene takes place. The party obtains the Gasmon Heart (ギャスモンハート) key item. After Gasmon expires, Chamul speaks to Heorot. The next objective is to return to Budecho in Gatara. The party gains control in the Hot Sand Cave. They go outside. East Gobul Desert (time 19:31): The party Zooms to Gatara. Gatara (time 19:40): In the house at F-7 in the southeastern square, the party talks to Budecho. This triggers a cutscene. Quest 158 complete! Heorot earns the Thief's Token (盗賊の証) key item, a Silver Skill Up Panel (スキルアップパネル・銀), and the Thief's Tunic Recipe Book (盗賊のチュニックの書). He learns the recipes for the Thief's Turban, Thief's Tunic Upper, and Thief's Tunic Lower. This way, if he needs to get rid of them to clear inventory space, he can make them again. Afterwards, more scenes place, including an epliogue to the Thief vocation quest line. At the church, the party gets Hussar cured of Curse. Now, they will work on the quest to unlock the Mini Medal Exchange. They Zoom to Rakkaran. Rakkaran (time 25:17): The party enters the Medal Owner's Castle in the north at D-3/E-3. Upstairs, they enter the throne room. A brief scene takes place as they approach Goleck, owner of Rakkaran Island. Nice place you have, Goleck. Below Goleck's throne, the party talks to Kranoch to the east, Goleck's number 1 butler. Kranoch issues Quest 019: "Medal Owner's Regret". He asks the party to find Lenoch, the number 2 butler. All Kranoch knows is that Lenoch probably took the train to Orfea on Pukland. The party goes outside and Zooms to Orfea. There are five races: Hume, Elvaan, Tarutaru, Mithra, and Galka. Gender is a choice for Humes, Elvaan, and Tarutaru. Mithra are female, while Galka seem to be male. Each race-gender combination has a selection of eight face and hairstyle combinations, and each of these has two hair colors available. Character size can be small, medium, or large. Heorot will a male Hume from the Republic of Bastok. He starts in the Red Mage job. Bastok: Port Bastok (time 3:01): Introductory scenes take place as Heorot starts in Port Bastok. The introductory scene may randomly take place in another part of the city. In the course of the scene, Heorot acquires an Adventurer Coupon. Cornelia is a familiar name dating all the way back to the first Final Fantasy game. As a Red Mage, Heorot starts with an Onion Dagger and a Scroll of Dia, in addition to basic Hume clothing. Humes and Galka starting in Bastok also start with a Bastokan Ring. Heorot uses the Scroll of Dia right away to learn Dia, a White Magic spell that slowly saps the target's health. If you're soloing, it is an excellent way to pull enemies. Dagger is not a bad weapon type for Red Mage, but I prefer swords. Heorot checks Home Point #1 by the North Gate in Port Bastok. Initially, Home Points were just respawn points. Now, the player can teleport between Home Points, which makes getting around a whole lot easier. You can teleport freely between Home Points in the same city, but you will have to pay gil to teleport to a Home Point in another town or city. Heorot trades his Adventurer Coupon to Dulsie at J-8 near the drawbridge for ... 50 gil? That's my starting pay? Don't make me laugh! Dulsie points Heorot to Gulldago at the West Gate in the Bastok Markets. She can also provide the locations of several quest-givers throughout Bastok, as well as provide other basic information. Heorot then runs around Port Bastok to examine the other Home Points. When he is done in the Port Bastok zone, he heads southwest to Bastok Markets. Bastok Markets (time 21:31): As Heorot enters Bastok Markets, there is a scene with a Hume named Foss. This completes "The Sacred City of Adoulin", a mission in the "Seekers of Adoulin" expansion. The next mission is "Rumors from the West". We're a long way from that! Once he regains control, Heorot registers Home Point #3 near the Residential Area in Bastok Markets.
