They were the primary destroyer built for the United States Navy during the 1970s and 1980s.
The lead ship was named in honor of U.S. Navy Admiral Raymond A. Spruance, who successfully led major naval battles in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II such as the Battle of Midway and the Battle of the Philippine Sea.
The class was designed with gas-turbine propulsion, a flight deck and hangar for up to two medium-lift helicopters, all-digital weapons, and automated 127 mm (5-inch) guns.
The class was originally designed to escort a carrier group, primarily for anti-submarine warfare (ASW), with point-defense anti-aircraft warfare (AAW) missiles and limited anti-ship capabilities.

At approximately 2800 tons the versatile Leander Class frigates entered service with Britain's Royal Navy in 1963. Outside the UK a number of countries bought the ship or developed their own variants.
The ships underwent a number of changes over the years which greatly altered their appearance and in some cases made the ships more specialized rather than their general purpose origins.
The new ships proved good sea boats and popular with their ships companies or crews becoming a well-known site around the UK and abroad
A British drama in the 1970s called Warship popularized the ships with the public in both the Uk and overseas. Filmed aboard 7 different Leander Class ships the series followed life aboard the fictional frigate HMS Hero. All ships involved in filming were repainted with the pennant number F42 of HMS Phoebe, the main warship used for filming.
While most users of the Leanders have long replaced these ships Ecuador and Indonesia continue to get good use from their ships, although these ships are now in the twilight of their careers also.

One of the more fascinating aircraft to arrive on the scene from China. This video offers a quick look at how we can easily identify this interesting aircraft.
The J-10 Vigorous Dragon (NATO reporting name Firebird) is multi role fighter. Development of the J-10 began in 1988, with the first prototype flying in 1996, and entering service in 2005. Designed as a single-engine aircraft and initially reported as a clone of the Israeli IAI Lavi design, with enhancements through supposed access to Pakistani F-16s.
Today the J-10 is in use with both China and more recently Pakistani militaries.
More than 500 J-10s of all types have rolled off production lines for both China's PLAN and PLAFF and more recently Pakistan.

Echo Voyager belongs to a class of extra large unmanned undersea vehicles (XLUUVs) that can operate fully autonomously. Thanks to its size and available energy capacity, it can perform a wide range of missions that were previously impossible for traditional UUVs.
This vehicle has a significant payload volume both inside and outside, which expands the capabilities of current unmanned undersea systems. Additionally, its advanced autonomy allows it to stay at sea for months, offering a more cost-effective and mission-capable alternative to traditional UUVs.
Boeing, a company with a long history of designing and operating deep sea systems, has been working on autonomous and large UUVs since the 1960s. Before creating Echo Voyager, they developed Echo Seeker and Echo Ranger as test beds for this XLUUV. These systems were used to support programs for the U.S. Navy and were legacy systems of Rockwell International.
