Well, Donald Trump has now found himself the target of yet another investigation as the Senate has decided that they are going to be looking into the claims made by former us attorney Jeffrey Berman in his new book, that the DOJ pressured Berman to punish Donald Trump's political enemies, retaliation for Berman indicting Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's former lawyer slash fixer. According to the claims that Berman has made in his new book, the DOJ was because Trump was that Michael Cohen was indicted and sent to prison. So first and foremost, bill BARR asked, uh, Berman, will you reverse this conviction? Can you, can you get him out of this? We don't want Michael Cohen going to jail. Donald Trump, of course, trying to protect his people. And Berman said, no, I'm I'm, I'm definitely not gonna do that. So then little bit later, bill BARR comes and says, all right, since you're not gonna go get rid of Michael Cohen, uh, Cohen's conviction. We need you to go after, um, Greg Craig, the white house council for former president Obama. We need you to indict him, you know, tit for tat you took our guy. So you, you gotta go take their guy too. And Berman was like, but we've, we've investigated Greg Craig, and there's nothing prosecutable. And of course this made bill BARR angry. It made Donald Trump angry. Donald Trump did end up firing, uh, Berman in 2020 after Berman refused to resign. And this is where we are. There's obviously a lot more claims like it wasn't just this one particular instance. The Berman says where the DOJ was trying to intervene and force him to investigate Democrats. And now the Senate says, you know what, maybe this is the kind of thing we need to be looking into. So democratic Senator Dick Durbin has reached out to Merrick Garland at the DOJ. And he said, we need a lot of different things from you. We need communications, we need emails. We need whatever you can give us so we can properly investigate the claims that Berman has made in this new book. And I'm sure eventually Berman will be called to testify in front of the Senate. Assuming of course, they're able to launch this investigation, keep a majority in the Senate and then continue it on into next year. However, what seems far more likely is that this actual investigation probably won't really begin until of course, after the midterms, possibly even after the new Congress is sworn in, in January, right? It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to go ahead and start this investigation right now, knowing that some of the members on the committee doing the investigating may not be here. You may have different people. You may have committee swaps. So unless you think you can wrap this whole thing up in about a month and a half, it's probably best to push it until January Democrats are not just poised to, uh, retain control of the Senate, but also to pick up a couple of seats. So it, because it's in the Senate, they may have time to kind of push this down the road. These are very serious allegations. They do show us an abuse of power from the Trump administration and they do need to be investigated, but we also don't need another half-assed investigation that can't complete itself because well, we ran into the midterms and then people changed and I got crazy do it right. More and more polls keep coming out both at the federal and the state level and every single one of them that is coming out right now has some really horrible news for Republicans, federally elected Republicans, meaning House, Senate and of course the white house, they're in trouble. They're in trouble, all over the country. Incumbent Republic, Republicans like Joni Ernst in Iowa is now losing to her opponent by three points, and sure it's within the margin of error, but it's also not something anyone thought what happened. But what's happening across the United States today with these massive protests is that Americans are waking up. You know, a lot of us have already been there. We understand we've seen the injustices, the racial injustices in this country. We've been reporting on them for over a decade. Most people were completely unaware of this, right? They could tune it out. You know, okay, the cops killed a black person here. The cops killed a black person there, but it's just every now and then it's really not that big of a deal. Well guess what folks it is and it's happening a lot more frequently than what you see. But when the protests started and the police doubled down on their disgusting behavior, that was the point when I think a lot of people across the country woke up and since then, believe it or not, polls have not only shown that one, people support the protests because I know the Republicans did a good job of trying to paint everybody as violent looters. Well, guess what? That talking point didn't stick. The talking point of, ah, they're all Antifa, that didn't stick. Oh, they're trying to create their own militarized zone here without weapons, not sticking. Public's not buying into any of it. They still support the protesters and now the polls are showing state by state that it is costing Republicans support. And that support is, according to these polls, shifting towards the Democrats. They do not, the voters, trust the Republicans to handle the situation, whether it's resolving what's currently happening or fixing the systemic problems that if not addressed, will just lead to all of this happening over and over and over again. Voters overwhelmingly at this point are saying the Republicans can't handle it. The Republicans don't want to handle it. The Democrats would do a better job. Now, obviously, you know, to be fair, the Democrats have been in charge in times like these. You know, we, we had Ferguson happened with Barack Obama and he was able to say some comforting words. We had very mild reforms put in place by this administration. It was very, very, very tiny baby steps, but it was something, but it wasn't enough by any stretch of the imagination, like barely noticeable really. But the Republicans will do absolutely nothing. If anything, they'll enact policies that make things worse. And unfortunately we are once again, stuck between those two choices. You know, is it make things worse or make things better, but we do so little that it's barely noticeable? Well, you have your personal opinion about that.
