[Tamil] Interview with an Eezham cini artist
49-year-old Eezham cinema artist Gnanadas Kasinathar, based in the island, has come up with a film uncovering the depth of the trauma and the challenges experienced by the families of the enforced disappeared Tamils in the North-East. Uru (Trance), a recent short film written and directed by the artist has once again brought recognition to Eezham Tamil short-films with an international award on the subject of human rights. In an interview surrounding the plight of a trauma-stricken society and the problems faced by it, the artist explains how the families cope with the psychological scars as well as how the entire Tamil nation is being subjected to a systematic and psychological programme of structural annihilation.
