In this demo, I am using the Joyo Cab Box Cab Sim & IR loader with a Ernie Ball Music Man Steve Morse and a Joyo Preamp House R-15. I'm using the stock impulse response in this one, which is their take on the Marshall 1960a.
I'm a Stringjoy artist, and play their set of Broadways on all my Electric guitars. I play the 10/13.5/17/28/38/50 on all my Gibson and Epiphone. I play the 9.5/13/16/26/36/48 on my Strat and Telecaster.

In today's episode of Vox friendly Pedals: Rat alternatives, we are having a look at the Reuss The Utilitarian with a Vox AC15c1. When I started looking for Rat alternatives for this series, I found the Reuss Swiss Army Knife. A very interesting pedal that combines the circuit of the original ProCo Rat with the LM308 chip, and a Klon with a very similar sounding op-amp.
The story behind The Utilitarian, is that Anders had ordered many pedal box enclosures for his Swiss Army Knife, but a mistake had been made on the lettering on the pedal. Instead of throwing the enclosures out, he decided to sand blast them and rehouse his Swiss Army Knife within these enclosures. That's right, this pedal is the Swiss Army Knife with a different name, different enclosure and at a lower price point.
The Utilitarian has a few tricks up it's sleeve, which will cover in this video.

In today's episode, we are having a look at the Sonicake 5th Dimension, a very cool digital modulation pedal.
Sonicake sent this out to me a few weeks back so we could check it out. There are 11 classic modulation effects, in this mini pedal format. you can select each effects via the rotary knob.
Effects range from phaser, flanger, chorus, roto-vibe, uni-vibe, auto-wah and lo-fi. I'll be showing my favorite settings for each effects.

The AC4 and the Origin 5 are two amps aimed at the home studio, practice amp and beginner markets. They are close in price, are both easy to find and are fairly light weight and plenty loud. The Marshall has many cool options at this price point compared to the AC4 that sells for a tad bit more money. However, we'll see if the Origin 5's features make up for it's tone, or if the lack of features of the AC4 makes it less desirable.
I'll be putting both amps through a series of test, clean/dirty tones as well as with my go to pedals.
I will let you determine which amplifier is the clear winner.

Killer tube pedal? Vahlbruch Kaluna with a Vox AC15c1
In this episode of Vox Friendly Pedals, we are checking out the Kaluna by Vahlbruch. This is a tube driven pedal by Dr Henning Vahlbruch, which consists of a single 12AX7 preamp tube/valve by JJ. The Kaluna is an original design, with a proprietary foot switch called the MagTraB.
The pedal runs on standard 9V BOSS style power chord, and send 250V of power to the tube/valve. So it's not just a glowing light, the tube/valve is actually part of the circuit!
I'll be putting the Vahlbruch Kaluna to the test, by testing it's three band EQ, how it stacks with pedals and how dynamic and amp-like it really is, all through my Vox AC15C1!
DISCLAIMER 1: I was provided the pedal for free in exchange for an unbiased review. Any views or opinions expresses in this video are my own.

I've been a fan of the JHS YouTube channel for many years. With that being said, I had never played one of their pedals until last year. I bought a use 3 Series Chorus, and I thought that it was a totally awesome pedal. So, I got in touch with the kind folks at JHS, and they sent out three of their 3 Series pedals for us to check out.
This is one of them, the JHS 3 Series Overdrive. This one is said to be based on the Japanese pedal called the Hoa Rumble Drive. I never played the original, so I can't comment on how these two compare, but the 3 Series Overdrive sounds similar, to my ears, to a Tube Screamer. Similar, but very different.
I'll be using the pedal with different guitars, an AC15 as well as a Squier P-Bass.
I'm a Stringjoy artist, and play their set of Broadways on all my Electric guitars.
I play the 10/13.5/17/28/38/50 on all my Gibson and Epiphone. I play the 9.5/13/16/26/36/48 on my Strat and Telecaster.

In this episode of the Vox friendly Pedals, we are having a look at the Sitek Cocoa Distortion with the Vox AC15c1. On my never ending quest to prove that Vox amplifiers are great pedal platforms, I come across unique pedals that give the AC15 some new and cool tones. The Cocoa from Sitek is definitely one of those pedals.
It's an original design that goes from light overdriven tones, to heavy gain. With it's simple controls, the Cocoa distortion is a very versatile pedal that stacks well with other pedals. We'll be testing the the Cocoa with my Vox AC15c1, mic'd with a Shure SM57.
