Clip 4 - Model Kommando - Build Guitar - Spray Can Kamo Paint
Episode Four is brief update to show spray paint guitar body with cheap Rust-Oleum ultra-flat army green paint and Rust-Oleum polyurethane aerosol can clear coat. This guitar was supposed to be just very quick, very cheap, for fun. So, I skipped step of using sanding sealer on body. This was a bad mistake. This wood soaked up a lot of paint, and I didn't want to spend lots of time sanding before clear coat. So, final result is many flaws in the finish. But, as you may see in future episodes, I eventually took some time to actually level sand and buff finish to smooth gloss...something I originally did not plan to do. (I just wanted to spray paint...then assemble guitar. Least time, least money. This plan always fails, as you may know for yourself.)
I was, however, very impressed with this Rust-Oleum Polyurethane clear spray. It seems impossible to make it run. If you do cause run, it may level itself out, like under control of some magic witch. It dries so fast, you can repeatedly apply as many coats as you want. I sprayed almost two cans on this body in one day, attempting to cover paint mistakes. It applied very thick, which allowed me to level sand (next episode) and polish very smooth with automobile buffer/cutting compounds. It may take 3 years to cure, however, if it ever does at all.

Some fool and his rubles soon find separation. I purchased this pedal on eBay out of some curiosity. It says HEAVY METAL on it, so how bad could it possibly be? Watch video to see for yourself! Perhaps you will not be surprised by the sound from this pedal. I say this...it will NOT be going for sale on sniffercustoms eBay store!
A look on inside shows this to be Metal Stack MS-400P (Alber?) pedal guts. Many clones of this pedal on interwebs.

By popular demand, I have included awesome professional heavy metal background music featuring me playing guitar, recorded on mobile phone video. Guitar played is something cobbled together from some old butchered Teisco body I found on eBay, a cheap telecaster neck (Kmise?), and cheapest pickups and electronics (and $13 locking tuners) I could find on Amazon. Sound comes from guitar played through Metal Zone pedal to small combo amplifier.
Epiphone Les Paul Standard being modified with Gotoh locking tuners was purchased new around 2010…I think.

As you may see in latest project, I will attempt to make this short scale fretless bass using least amount of money possible. Wood is coming from big box store. Center neck-through section is made from five pieces of oak, and body sides made from pieces of poplar...all glued together. Why? Just for curiosity, and because I have Lowe's credit card. Fretboard is piece of ziricote from Keim Lumber (they have very nice guitar wood products for good price). Bridge and tuners shipped direct from China...cheapest hardware I could find on planet. Pickups are also super cheap fake Music Man humbuckers...so I will use two. Electronics will include simply one CTS volume, one CTS tone, Switchcraft 3-way toggle pickup selector, and Stratocaster type output jack mounted on backside of bass. A Stew Mac Dual Action Hot Rod truss is being installed, and nut will be made from Graph Tech Tusq XL black blank. Finish will be done, if bass does not go into trash bin, with cans of cheap spray paint.
Bonus footage included of making workbench from 2x4s and plywood in underground wood processing facility of Sniffer Customs. Bench is better than squatting on ground to cut wood.
Do not copy techniques you may see in my videos. I do a few things with tools that are unsafe, and many things with guitar building that are done to save time...because life is short...and it's usually past my bedtime.

In video six of series, I re-install StayTrem stainless arm to tremolo, and re-assemble unit using all stainless fasteners. Tremolo tension adjustment screw is replaced with socket head stainless bolt and nylon washer for easier adjustments. Vintage white tip on arm was replaced with black tip. My plan was to try LaBella Bass VI FLAT wound stings on this setup, but core of one of these snapped like a twig during installation. That's okay, I think wound rounds are better suited for this Bass VI. Flat wounds also had wrapping on ends that did not play well with locking tuners. $50 thrown into trash; new 767-6S round wounds installed, back to business. Saddle intonation screws on StayTrem bridge were replaced with socket head stainless bolts with nylon washers for easier adjustment. ?
Background noise is Ibanez Artcore AS73 semi-hollow, played through NUX Solid Studio IR/Amp Sim, Boss RT-20 rotary pedal, NUX Time Core Delay, and DigiTech Polara Reverb.

Model Kommando will feature FOUR HUMBUCKER PICKUPS. Model Kommando will be most loud, most powerful, MOST HEAVY METAL electric guitar ever produced by Sniffer Customs...and probably entire universe.
In first episode, you may see body design traced to Poplar body blank, neck pocket routed, and neck test fitted. Due to magnetic force of FOUR HUMBUCKERS, neck is being attached using SIX stainless steel attachment screws. (Four neck screws is only sufficient for weak guitars with only two humbuckers, like Hello Kitty guitar used in country music.)

Pros:
1. Sounds pretty good.
2. Black.
3. No "LOW" control knob that would offend someone offended by too many knobs.
4. Cheap.
5. Skull and Crossbones (on fire) image.
Cons:
1. Does not say "METAL" anywhere in name.
2. Unnecessarily big.
3. Volume at 100% is compare to Metal Zone at 50%.
4. Power input hole on side of pedal.
5. No "LOW" control knob, for people who like low control knob.
