DONATE TO THE GREEN HILLS ANIMAL SHELTER
Facebook's feature of looking back at the posts I created on a particular day is a very cool thing. One of them was of my friend posting a vid of "Ridin' Dirty" to a previous posts of my new bike and her seeing me ride it. I thought "why not sing this,..but I'll make it my own", and so I did. I don't think it'll make the charts, but it was fun to do.

Plush,..man, does this song take me back. Stone Temple Pilots, along with a myriad of other groups from the 90s made that decade my favorite to date.
Plush was a song from the album "Core" by Stone Temple Pilots has a Ragtime type of feel with regard to the chord structure as was the intent of Robert DeLeo and was based on a story read in the newspaper about a girl who had been found dead outside of San Diego, but the lyrics have a double meaning about a failed relationship. Setting all the "education" aside, this song brought back so many memories for me. As I'm typing this, I have my 90s playlist going. I may have been a child of the 80s, but my heart, with regard to music, will always belong in the 90s. Rock had finally taken a tun for the better and while I liked a lot of the bands / songs from that decade, the 90s brought a welcome change for me in the realm of music. Substance and meaning had taken hold with many of the songwriters and a more somber approach to rhythm and chord structure had given many of the songs a much needed boost. Many would say that the songs reflected a darker and more brooding feeling within the minds of Generation X, but I disagree. The music began to reflect a growing question as to our existence, that there had to be something more to life other than partying, drinking, screwing and bragging about it. I was in my 20s during this time and my whole life was ahead of me, full of dreams and Plush brought back some of them, if only for a little while.
Lyrics:
And I feel that time's a wasted go
So where ya going to tomorrow?
And I see that these are lies to come
Would you even care?
And I feel it
And I feel it
Where ya going for tomorrow?
Where ya going with that mask I found?
And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
Will she smell alone?
And I feel, so much depends on the weather
So is it raining in your bedroom?
And I see, that these are the eyes of disarray
Would you even care?
And I feel it
And she feels it
Where ya going to tomorrow?
Where ya going with that mask I found?
And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
Will she smell alone?
When the dogs do find her
Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it
When the dogs do find her
Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it
Where ya going for tomorrow?
Where ya going with that mask I found?
And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
Will she smell alone?
When the dogs do find her
Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it
When the dogs do find her
Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it
To find it
To find it
To find it

Underdog Theme Song Under the Overpass
Underdog Theme Song | Day 198
DONATE TO THE GREEN HILLS ANIMAL SHELTER
The Underdog show was one of my early morning cartoons before I went to school. It was a pleasure to do this song under the overpass. I always thought that his "super energy pill" was a veiled attempt at an wink-and-a-nod at drug use, but I could be over analyzing things ;)
The lyrics are as follows:
There's no need to fear! Underdog is here!
when criminals in this world appear
and break the laws that they should fear
and frighten all who see or hear
the cry goes up both far and near
for Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!
speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!
when in this world the headlines read
of those whose hearts are filled with greed
who rob and steal from those who need
to right this wrong with blinding speed
goes Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!
speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!
