Getting the correct length for your spokes can be a stumbling block when you're building a bicycle wheel. Numerous websites have spoke length calculators and I figured it was going to be simple to determine the perfect length for my spokes. I was in for a bit of a surprise. Here is a link to Sheldon Brown's guide to determining spoke length: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/spoke-length.html

Two weeks after the theft of my truck I installed a Dzees security system with two “wire free” cameras. After two months of use I have a pretty good idea of how they work and what the limitations are and it’s worth sharing, especially if you’re considering a home security system.
Let me help you save money!
Of course you can buy mr a coffee (thanks for asking):

I had spent the night at a rest area on the Coquihalla Highway. The goal was to reach the town of Penticton over the next two days. The Kettle Vally Rail Trail was the most direct path. But there were so many questions about this route. Where can you access it? What condition is it in? Are there services along the way?
This video shows the KVR from Brookmere to Princeton.
First I got lost trying to find it, then it rained. Later I encountered a missing trestle, knee deep water, a couple of flat tires and some cows.

It is only the very beginning of the gardening season in Alberta and we already have a Zucchini growing in ours. It's still small, but definitely real!

In this video I'm sharing my attempts to ride the Kettle Valley Trail from Midway to Christina Lake on a loaded touring bike. The trip was part of my coast to coast tour across Canada.
Barbara was travelling the same route by car to promote her book "Walking in your Power".

I'll introduce you to my bicycles, but first I have a request. Do not throw out your old bicycles when you're spring cleaning! Who wants an old bike, you might be wondering. The reality is that there are many would be cyclists out there on minimal budgets that would love to ride your old bicycle. You can donate your bike to a charitable organization like, for example, Bike Edmonton, where it will be assessed and probably repaired in one of their non profit bike shops, or perhaps stripped for parts. The result are many highly affordable, well-tuned bikes, that can make a real difference in someone's life as inexpensive transportation or recreation.
With that said I introduce you to four and a half bikes I own and ride. All of them are older bikes from the 1970's and 80's that once collected dust in someone's garage until they got donated.
Several characters comment and make announcements throughout the video.
