In this video Granny talks about a new gardening philosophy and throws out all of the conventional rules of the garden. Seed packets tell us when to plant and how long it takes to grow food. Unfortunately plants can't read the packets. Plants seem to be doing their own thing in Granny's garden, so Granny's going to roll with it. Let's plant Everything, Let's Break some rules!, Let's GROW FOOD!

It's looking like the deep south will get an early fall this year if the flowers are any indication. Nature knows, and if we pay close attention, we will know too. Here in the deep south, Fall temperatures usually comes in late October/early November and these flowers normally bloom around October 15...but this year they started blooming in mid-September. I think we're going to get relief from the heat sooner rather than later! I always enjoy the appearance of these Hurricane Lilies. They are beautiful, and hold the promise of cooler weather and a break from the oppressive heat that we endure here in the Deep South . Every year, they pop up in different spots at the very end of summer like random little smiles created just for me.
