After obtaining the Basement Key, go to the underground area of Goldenrod City to open a locked door. Once inside the underground warehouse, your rival will stop by and have a battle with you. For the 4th battle, Zubat and Gastly have evolved. Also, new to his team is Sneasel, which was seemingly stolen from another trainer living in Cianwood City. Sneasel will use Icy Wind to lower the target’s Speed stat and Faint Attack to strike without fail. After the battle, navigate the underground area by pressing the switches to adjust the shutters.

There are several items lying around in the Power Plant. You may mistakenly interact with and be attacked by an Electrode by some of the items on the ground. If you do, you’ll be engaged with a battle with one of these. Electrode is on Level 43. The best idea is to paralyze it then draw out some Ultra Balls. Catch it quickly before it uses Selfdestruct.

After defeating N, you’ll witness the leader of Team Plasma, Ghetsis. Cofagrigus will combo with Toxic and Protect. Making contact with Cofagrigus causes its Mummy ability to spread. When Bouffalant uses Head Charge or Wild Charge, it can be more troublesome with its Reckless ability. Seismitoad will use Rain Dance to make its Swift Swim ability take effect and summon Muddy Water to make opponents less accurate. If Bisharp survives any strong attack, it can fight back with Metal Burst and even have its Attack stat go up if any stats are lowered with the Defiant ability. Eelektross is unaffected by Ground type moves due to its Levitate ability and will use Acrobatics since it doesn’t hold an item. Hydreigon will be the opponent you’ll have most trouble battling because it knows many useful attacks. If you have a wide variety of moves, you should go with caution. After the battle, Ghetsis will be taken away and N will give his speech before he leaves.

Use the Melting Grenade to break some walls and enter the pipeline nearby. Navigate some rolling wheel platforms and watch for gorillas coming by. Go through the next pipeline and defeat a monkey to board its platform. Descend and you’ll encounter a rabbit along with a torch cup throwing flames. After falling through a few sections, go through the opening right and you’ll see hydraulic presses come down when you’re up close. Descend once and use the Melting Grenade to blow a hole in the wall. Go through the opening and cross some falling platforms, but watch for acid drops. Use the Melting Grenade to blow a hole in the wall one last time and go through to take on a trio of hatches inside small generators. These hatches will release pellets to wherever you stand. Be careful not to fall through the pipelines below. When you under the hatches on the left and right, or if you’re over the hatch in the center, use the Killer Sphere to attack in a straight line. When the hatch turns blue, use the Flare Barrier. Even if you’re out of ammo for either weapon, you lose. After all 3 hatches are gone, you’ll advance to the next level.

After pressing the switch to open a wall and a bomb block, a boulder will chase you. Go into the gap to avoid being hit while the boulder opens the way. After a water current is formed, go through the door and use the next door at the top. Use the laser ability to shoot lasers so they break bomb blocks to lower food. Take an upper slope for the first chest. The next room consists a room of cannons. If you take the cannon left first, you’ll be blasted to a door that leads to a dark room. Light the candles to lighten the room. The barrel before the next door has the 2nd chest. Go through the door and Doc will take the big chest. Turn into a Wheelie and strike Doc with blinding speed to take the chest. Make your way through a maze of slopes then you’ll find the goal.
