The Latest EVA outside the International Space Station saw one of the cosmonauts taking a knife to the outside of their return spacecraft to collect evidence for the investigation of the origin of a hole in the spacecraft.

We have our lander perfected, we have a heavy lifter rocket ready to take it into orbit. So let's test the technology by launching from Kerbin, travelling 200 days into interplanetary space and then returning to... Kerbin.

Japan's space program is hugely capable, they've provided one of the most important parts of the ISS, were the first to return samples from an asteroid, recently they've landed on the moon and debuted the new H-3 rocket.
But their biggest launch vehicle is a direct descendent of the American Thor/Delta rocket and while Delta is soon to be retired, Japan's H-3 has a long history ahead of it.

I think this has been my hardest puzzle yet, primarily because I kept trying to optimize and headed down paths that would ultimately waste my time. Premature optimization is the enemy of good design. This is true in real life, and true in this game.

I covered Tharsis upon its release several months ago, it's a game where you manage a spacecraft and a series of disasters, stressed crew and occasional cannibalism on a jinxed voyage to Mars. The game mechanics mirror those of a more traditional board game, with problems being solved by rolling dice.
Since its release it's had a few updates including a number of pre-scripted challenge scenarios for your crew to survive.
But the real reason I wanted to look at this again is because it's part of the current Humble 'Survive This' Bundle along with Space Engineers and PlanetBase

Wednesday's launch was aborted for safety reasons related to the weather, these launch rules apply to every rocket regardless of whether they have a crew or not. However there were extra measures taken which are specific to crewed launches and it's worth discussing some of these while we wait for the weekend.
Here's a couple of articles on the Abort Modes:

With my recent focus on expansion I'm now the most populous power on the galactic stage, but some of my neighbours are making alliances. I guess I have to expand through the Ulgarak instead then.
