I follow up building the MeArm by connecting it to a Raspberry Pi and get GpioZero to talk to it and make it move. This is exploratory more than tutorial.
Building one of the inexpensive esp8266 robot kits with my 4 year old son. In this we put it together, discuss some of its shortcomings and what to next.
Uses the esp12e + esp12e motor shield. Thanks to Benjamin Carlyle - here's the docs for that: https://www.gitbook.com/book/smartarduino/user-mannual-for-esp-12e-motor-shield/details

Bangers and Bash will be the Orionrobots entry for Piwars 2020.
PiWars (at piwars.org) is a robotics competition, for robot builders of all levels, with robots built around Raspberry Pi.
Bangers and Bash is a lunchbox robot, an upgraded version of the robot I wrote about in The Magpi (Low Cost Wheeled Robotics).
In this video, we go over our plans, compare some motor controllers unpackaged straight from a Pimoroni shipment. Helena discusses her art concepts.
We compare the humble l298n with some big guns - the RedRobotics RedBoard (@NeilRedRobotics) and the Adafruit Crickit - hats designed for Raspberry Pi.
You can learn to build robots too with my book Learn Robotics Programming, from Packt Publishing. You will get a step by step walkthrough on making a robot, programming it with automatic sensor-driven behaviours, using a camera to make decisions, a touch screen phone controller and building a voice assistant sidekick.

In this video, I unbox and review an electronics bench power supply, the NANKADF WPS3010H Programmable DC Power supply, along with a USB power monitor.
I open it up, look at the controls and the manual, then bring it to the desk and test drive it with a robot and interact with its settings.
Chapters:
00:00:00 Introduction and WPS3010H power supply unboxing
00:01:09 Power supply cables shipped with WPS3010H
00:01:36 Close up view of the back of the WPS3010H bench power supply
00:02:28 WPS3010H Bench power supply front panel controls
00:02:56 Looking through the WPS3010H bench power supply manual
00:07:36 Getting the power supply powered up on the desk
00:08:20 WPS3010H bench power supply settings - turning the beeper off
00:09:19 Setting the voltage on the WPS3010H bench power supply
00:11:03 Attaching the WPS3010H bench power supply test leads
00:12:02 Testing the WPS3010H bench power supply with a robot
00:13:47 Taking a look at the Makerhawk USB Type-C tester instructions
00:15:35 Testing the Makerhawk USB Type-C tester in a USB extension dock
00:16:21 Turning on the Makerhawk USB C-Type tester in a laptop USB port

Today I open and build day 4 of the PiHut Codemas Calendar (15th Dec), where I build a circuit with an analog input to the Raspberry Pi Pico.
I get creative using it to improve on the Christmas light pattern me and miniorionrobots cooked up on Day 2.

I had a bit of a Raspberry Pi Pico sensor and robotics shopping spree with Pimoroni. I take a look at what I got and discuss them.
Parts:
* Kitronic Raspberry pi Pico Robotics Board
* Kitronic Raspberry Pi Pico Motor Board
* Pololu 3 channel FOV sensor - distance sensor
* Pololu 7 channel reflectance sensor
* Pimoroni Raspberry Pi Pico Wireless Pack
* Pimoroni PicoProto
* Raspberry Pi ".code" T-shirt
I plan to use all these parts to make Raspberry Pi Pico robots, and to wear that T-shirt when doing so!

This year I brought Helena to PyCon Uk 2017 in Cardiff. Instead of building something with a robot, she used a microbit and her imagination to create a talk about kindness, with a badge as a way to visualise this.
This was filmed using my phone from the audience.

Dropping 6v batteries to 5v for an Arduino Uno - using 2 1n4007 diodes. It can't be done with the onboard regulator with less than 7v. Revealing some of my plans for the esp8266.

I've recently written a book on making robots titled: "Learn Robotics Programming" which takes you step by step through building a Raspberry Pi-based robot and programming it with Python to perform autonomous behaviours. Buying it at https://www.packtpub.com/hardware-and-creative/learn-robotics-programming is a great way to support my channel.
More recently I have been building a Robot Arm with the Raspberry Pi at https://youtu.be/MQ6MhoB3PEU
