"In November last year, we had the opportunity to meet during my participation in the 29th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, and our discussions were highly productive. Hereby, I extend my warm welcome to your attendance to the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and your state visit. Since the establishment of China-Chile diplomatic relations more than half a century ago, the bilateral ties have long been at the forefront of China's relations with Latin American and Caribbean countries, creating numerous 'firsts.' Chile is the first South American country to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, and also a pioneer in the Belt and Road cooperation between China and Latin America. Chilean leaders' attendance of three Belt and Road Forums for International Cooperation is a unique presence among Latin American and Caribbean countries. The China-Chile cooperation in various fields has played a key role in fostering development and rejuvenation in both nations, delivering tangible benefits to our peoples. I attach great importance to the China-Chile relations and am ready to exchange views with you on the development of our bilateral relations and issues of common concern."

Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Chilean President Gabriel Boric on Tuesday in Beijing.
Boric arrived in the Chinese capital on Sunday to attend the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and pay a state visit.
"In November last year, we had the opportunity to meet during my participation in the 29th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, and our discussions were highly productive. Hereby, I extend my warm welcome to your attendance to the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and your state visit," said Xi.

"I attach great importance to the China-Chile relations and am ready to exchange views with you on the development of our bilateral relations and issues of common concern," Xi said.
The forum is the most important diplomatic event hosted by China so far this year, and the most significant celebration for the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The first-ever BRF was held in Beijing in 2017, and the second edition took place in 2019.

STORY: Video obtained by Reuters shows Israeli soldiers in a street fight in Qalqilya, in the West Bank, on Monday (December 4).
Reuters was able to confirm the location by buildings and road layout which matched satellite and file imagery of the area. Location also matched Palestine TV aftermath footage from the scene.
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported earlier on Monday, without immediately providing further details, that Israeli forces killed two Palestinians in a car and detained two others during a raid in the occupied West Bank on Monday.
Asked about the incident in Qalqilya in the early hours of Monday morning, an Israeli military spokesperson said "there was counter-terrorism activity there" and that further details would be published later.
The West Bank has seen surging violence in parallel to Israel's eight-week-old war against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip, another territory where Palestinians seek statehood.
