http://CollisionBlast.com - - This video demonstrates how to sand the painted surface before buffing. You may have heard of this as cut and polish. The purpose of polishing paint is to remove imperfections after painting. If there is dirt, runs, orange peel, dry spray, etc. the surface needs to be sanded level. Then we can move to Part 2, which is polishing the surface to bring the depth and luster back. Color sanding and buffing may also be done on show cars to produce a flawless appearance. Custom Paint Jobs, such as a fade can be achieved by using this paint blending technique. In this video we demonstrate how to blend car paint. This is the process of spraying new paint and blending it into the old color to produce a color match. Ideally, you want to mix a color that is a blendable match. However, in this video we are mixing a color that is too dark, which will help us demonstrate the concept of a blend. Perhaps, you want to do a fade job of fading one color into another color! You could use this technique or tip to achieve that result. NOTE: I had some question about the clear that I am using. This is not regular clear coat. It is a base coat that is clear (blender). Headlight restoration using toothpaste, WD40, restoration kits, clear coat, and other methods have been used. In this video, I am going to test the #toothpaste and WD40 to see which works better and lasts longer. I made the video because I have restored headlights in other videos and get so many questions about them, so I decided to make this video to help answer these issues for you. I mentioned in the video the permanent fix for #headlightrestoration using a 2K clear coat. There are a few steps you need to do to prep the plastic lenses so check out this video to learn more.
