Thousands of streets in Germany bear his name. 24 million Germans belong to the Evangelical Church. But do the Lutherans really know his teaching or are some of his statements swept under the carpet?
As a child of God, Luther appeared at the Diet in Worms and did not revoke his writings. He resisted the emperor and the Catholic Church and the Bible was translated as a child of God.
The young Luther had a clear biblical teaching with which he represented biblical standpoints such as sobriety and temperance, but also clearly contradicted infant baptism. The young Luther feared no conflict with the Catholic Church. Luther, who later increasingly tended to become obese and was not averse to alcohol, sought an alliance with another government - the ruling prince. He fought everyone who didn't fit into his imagination. For Luther, Jews, Turks, Anabaptists, free thinkers and also the peasants became enemy images. Luther's statements diverged further and further from the teaching of Jesus Christ, whom he purported to represent.
Comparison of the teaching of Luther and the teaching of Jesus Christ
Farmers:
Martin Luther called on the princes to murder rebellious peasants - one would almost rather write - slaughter them. Almost 100,000 farmers were killed, some of them brutally tortured. Luther's charter gave the princes a charter to commit any kind of cruelty.
Jesus taught: Thou shalt not kill ... and extended killing to killing with the tongue: "But whoever says: You fool! Will be addicted to the hell of fire." Matthew 5:22 Jesus taught reconciliation and forgiveness. Jesus taught how one should act in the event of a conflict: “But I say to you: Do not resist anyone who harms you, but if someone hits you on the right cheek, then turn the other towards him too! And if someone wants to take you to court to take your shirt away, leave them your coat too! And if one wants to force you to go a mile with him, go two with him! ”Matthew 5: 39-41
Luther later said: Preachers are the greatest killers! And then Luther puts the blame on God, who is said to have ordered him - against his own word - to do so. Here the whole blasphemy of Luther shows itself.
Luther had earlier expressed criticism of the Catholic Church and the Popes and then acted just as autocratically and blasphemously and incited the authorities to murder and oppression.
Soldier craft / peacefulness:
Luther calls for murder in the name of God. He calls for cycling, veining, hanging, beheading and killing in war, because all of this is God's judgment. Here you can see that Luther served a different God th
