Kansas To Reduce State Food Tax
Kansas has a new State Representative District Map going through the House. Also, the House Committee On Taxation approved a plan to reduce the state food tax gradually until it is at zero percent.

Wyoming passed a bill protecting their Second Amendment rights, while Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer vetoed a bill related to citizens of the state receiving their concealed carry permits in a timely fashion, even in emergencies. I had to add a stretch of video in the middle, related to the Michigan bill.

The Kansas Legislature is cutting it close to the end of session with passing the food sales tax bill. The State Senate passes a $165 million tax cut, over three years. I cannot say that I am an expert on this topic....my take is that taxes are terrible.

2022-03-25---Kansas-Legislature-Discusses-Parent's-Bill-Of-Rights,-In-Both-Houses
The Kansas Legislature has bills going through both houses that are related to parent's rights, in relation to their child's schooling. One bill is about allowing them to transfer to school's outside of their local district. The others, one in the House & one in the Senate, are both in relation to parents having the ability to object to material(s) that are being used for teaching. I think that the parents deserve that right, since it is their children.

An Oregon man was arrested for home assembled firearms and fentanyl. A Philadelphia police officer was arrested for perjury and more after an audit into citywide firearms related arrests showed that he violated department policy. This is part of why I disagree with firearms laws and blindly backing law enforcement.

2022-03-29---Judge-Tosses-Maryland-DEMOCRAT-Gerrymandered-Redistricting-Map
And here I thought that it was always the Republicans that were gerrymandering. Looks like the Democrats of Maryland were trying to push it a bit TOO far with their redistricing map this time. A judge threw the map out and order the State Legislature to produce a new one. In the article, they reference a site that critiques the amount of gerrymandering going on and give the maps a grade. REASON also provided the Citizen's Commission version which was much cleaner than the one made by the State. Unfortunately, they had not finished grading the Kansas map, which I show as well for comparison.
