Dancers usually try to make the social dance community inclusive and diverse. Others try to make it exclusive and elitist. In the following, we discuss these concepts in the context of an article by Pierre Henry. He has accused me of misrepresenting him because I did not explain why he promotes a culture of bullying and shaming. However, the video has a whole section regarding how bullies try to justify their negative behavior. This is not to say there are not real issues, in the world or in the dance community. I give the example of obesity and note that the issue does not suggest a need to deny the reality of the problem but the issue involves how we address the problems.
