What is metoprolol?
Metoprolol is a beta-blocker that affects the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins).
Metoprolol is used to treat angina (chest pain) and hypertension (high blood pressure).

Metoprolol injection is used during the early phase of a heart attack to lower the risk of death.
Warnings.
You should not use metoprolol if you have a serious heart problem (heart block, sick sinus syndrome, slow heart rate), severe circulation problems, severe heart failure, or a history of slow heart beats that caused fainting.
Before taking this medicine.
You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to metoprolol, or other beta-blockers (atenolol, carvedilol, labetalol, nadolol, nebivolol, propranolol, sotalol, and others), or if you have:
a serious heart problem such as heart block, sick sinus syndrome, or slow heart rate;
severe circulation problems;
severe heart failure (that required you to be in the hospital); or
a history of slow heart beats that have caused you to faint.
To make sure this medicine is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:
asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sleep apnea, or other breathing disorder;
diabetes (taking metoprolol may make it harder for you to tell when you have low blood sugar);
liver disease;
congestive heart failure;
problems with circulation (such as Raynaud's syndrome);
a thyroid disorder; or
pheochromocytoma (tumor of the adrenal gland).
Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known whether metoprolol will harm an unborn baby. However, having high blood pressure during pregnancy may cause complications such as diabetes or eclampsia (dangerously high blood pressure that can lead to medical problems in both mother and baby). The benefit of treating hypertension may outweigh any risks to the baby.
Ask a doctor before using this medicine if you are breast-feeding. Metoprolol can pass into breast milk and may cause dry skin, dry mouth, diarrhea, constipation, or slow heartbeats in your baby.
How should I take metoprolol?
Take metoprolol exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose.
Metoprolol should be taken with a meal or just after a meal.
Take the medicine at the same time each day.
Swallow the capsule whole and do not crush, chew, break, or open it.
A Toprol XL tablet can be divided in half if your doctor has told you to do so. Swallow the half-tablet whole, without chewing or crushing.
Measure liquid medicine carefully. Use the dosing syringe provided, or use a medicine dose-measuring device (not a kitchen spoon).
You will need frequent medical tests, and your blood pressure will need to be checked often.
If you need surgery, tell the surgeon ahead of time that you are using this medicine.
You should not stop using this medicine suddenly. Stopping suddenly may make your condition worse.
If you have high blood pressure, keep using metoprolol even if you feel well. High blood pressure often has no symptoms. You may need to use this medicine for the rest of your life.
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
Metoprolol injection is given as an infusion into a vein. A healthcare provider will give you this injection in a medical setting where your heart and blood pressure can be monitored. The injections are given for only a short time before switching you to the oral form of this medicine.
Metoprolol side effects.
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction to metoprolol: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Metoprolol may cause serious side effects. Call your doctor at once if you have:
very slow heartbeats;
a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out;
shortness of breath (even with mild exertion), swelling, rapid weight gain; or
cold feeling in your hands and feet.

What is Aldesleukin? and What is Aldesleukin used for?
Aldesleukin is used to treat advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC, a type of cancer that begins in the kidney) that has spread to other parts of your body. Aldesleukin is also used to treat melanoma (a type of skin cancer) that has spread to other parts of your body.
Aldesleukin is in a class of drugs known as cytokines.
It is a man made version of a naturally occurring protein that stimulates the body to produce other chemicals which increase the body's ability to fight cancer.
How to use Aldesleukin?
Aldesleukin comes as a powder to be mixed with liquid to be injected over intravenously (into a vein) over 15 minutes by a doctor or nurse in a hospital.
It is usually injected every 8 hours for 5 days in a row (a total of 14 injections). This cycle may be repeated after 9 days.
The length of treatment depends on how well your body responds to treatment.
Your doctor may need to delay or permanently stop your treatment if you experience certain side effects.
You will be carefully monitoring during your treatment with aldesleukin. It is important for you to tell your doctor how you are feeling during your treatment with aldesleukin.
What special precautions should I follow?
Before receiving aldesleukin:
tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to aldesleukin, any other medications, or any of the ingredients in aldesleukin injection.
tell your doctor and pharmacist what other prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take.
Be sure to mention any of the following: beta blockers such as atenolol (Tenormin), labetalol (Normodyne), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), nadolol (Corgard), and propranolol (Inderal); certain cancer chemotherapy medications such as asparaginase (Elspar), cisplatin (Platinol), dacarbazine (DTIC-dome), doxorubicin (Doxil), interferon-alfa (Pegasys, PEG-Intron), methotrexate (Rheumatrex, Trexall), and tamoxifen (Nolvadex); medications for high blood pressure; medications for nausea and vomiting; narcotics and other pain medications; sedatives, sleeping pills, and tranquilizers; steroids such as dexamethasone (Decadron, Dexone), methylprednisolone (Medrol), and prednisone (Deltasone); and steroid creams, lotions, or ointments such as hydrocortisone (Cortizone, Westcort).
Also tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the medications you are taking so they can check whether any of your medications may increase the risk that you will develop kidney or liver damage during your treatment with aldesleukin.
tell your doctor if you have ever had seizures, gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding requiring surgical treatment, or other serious GI, heart, nervous system, or kidney problems after you received aldesleukin or if you have ever had an organ transplant (surgery to replace an organ in the body). Your doctor may not want you to receive aldesleukin.
tell your doctor if you have or have ever had seizures, Crohn's disease, scleroderma (a disease that affects the tissues that support skin and internal organs), thyroid disease, arthritis, diabetes, myasthenia gravis (a disease that weakens muscles), or cholecystitis (inflammation of the gall bladder that causes severe pain).
tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while receiving aldesleukin, call your doctor. You should not breast-feed while receiving aldesleukin.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue your normal diet.
What side effects can Aldesleukin cause?
Aldesleukin may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
nausea.
vomiting.
diarrhea.
loss of appetite.
sores in the mouth and throat.
tiredness.
weakness.
dizziness.
general feeling of being unwell.
pain or redness at the place where the injection was given.
Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

What is Tetralogy of Fallot?
Tetralogy of Fallot is a rare condition caused by a combination of four heart defects that are present at birth (congenital).
These defects, which affect the structure of the heart, cause oxygen-poor blood to flow out of the heart and to the rest of the body. Infants and children with tetralogy of Fallot usually have blue-tinged skin because their blood doesn't carry enough oxygen.
Tetralogy of Fallot is often diagnosed while the baby is an infant or soon after. Sometimes, depending on the severity of the defects and symptoms, tetralogy of Fallot is not detected until adulthood.
All babies who have tetralogy of Fallot need corrective surgery. People with tetralogy of Fallot need regular doctor's checkups for the rest of their life and may have activity restrictions.
Symptoms:
Tetralogy of Fallot symptoms vary, depending on the amount of blood flow that's blocked. Signs and symptoms may include:
A bluish coloration of the skin caused by low blood oxygen levels (cyanosis).
Shortness of breath and rapid breathing, especially during feeding or exercise.
Poor weight gain.
Tiring easily during play or exercise.
Irritability.
Prolonged crying.
Heart murmur.
Fainting.
An abnormal, rounded shape of the nail bed in the fingers and toes (clubbing).
Tet spells:
Sometimes, babies who have tetralogy of Fallot will suddenly develop deep blue skin, nails and lips after crying or feeding, or when agitated.
These episodes are called tet spells. Tet spells are caused by a rapid drop in the amount of oxygen in the blood. Tet spells are most common in young infants, around 2 to 4 months old. Toddlers or older children might instinctively squat when they're short of breath. Squatting increases blood flow to the lungs.
When to see a doctor.
Seek medical help if you notice that your baby has the following signs or symptoms:
Difficulty breathing.
Bluish discoloration of the skin.
Passing out or seizures.
Weakness.
Unusual irritability.
If your baby becomes blue (cyanotic), place your baby on his or her side and pull your baby's knees up to his or her chest. This helps increase blood flow to the lungs. Call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.
Causes:
Tetralogy of Fallot occurs as the baby's heart is developing during pregnancy. Usually, the cause is unknown.
Tetralogy of Fallot includes four defects:
Narrowing of the lung valve (pulmonary valve stenosis).
Narrowing of the valve that separates the lower right chamber of the heart (right ventricle) from the main blood vessel leading to the lungs (pulmonary artery) reduces blood flow to the lungs.
The narrowing might also affect the muscle beneath the pulmonary valve. Sometimes, the pulmonary valve doesn't form properly (pulmonary atresia).
A hole between the bottom heart chambers (ventricular septal defect).
A ventricular septal defect is a hole in the wall (septum) that separates the two lower chambers of the heart (left and right ventricles).
The hole causes oxygen-poor blood in the right ventricle to mix with oxygen-rich blood in the left ventricle.
This causes inefficient blood flow and reduces the supply of oxygen-rich blood to the body. The defect eventually can weaken the heart.
Shifting of the body's main artery (aorta). Normally the aorta branches off the left ventricle. In tetralogy of Fallot, the aorta is in the wrong position. It's shifted to the right and lies directly above the hole in the heart wall (ventricular septal defect).
As a result, the aorta receives a mix of oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor blood from both the right and left ventricles.
Thickening of the right lower heart chamber (right ventricular hypertrophy). When the heart's pumping action is overworked, the muscular wall of the right ventricle becomes thick.
Over time this might cause the heart to stiffen, become weak and eventually fail.
Some children or adults who have tetralogy of Fallot may have other heart defects such as a hole between the heart's upper chambers (atrial septal defect), a right aortic arch or problems with the coronary arteries.
Risk factors:
While the exact cause of tetralogy of Fallot is unknown, some things might increase the risk of a baby being born with this condition.
Risk factors for tetralogy of Fallot include:
A viral illness during pregnancy, such as rubella (German measles).
Drinking alcohol during pregnancy.
Poor nutrition during pregnancy.
A mother older than age 40.
A parent who has tetralogy of Fallot.
The presence of Down syndrome or DiGeorge syndrome in the baby.

Sus usos más frecuentes son para: amigdalitis, faringitis, dolor de garganta.
Los beneficios de Agin se deben a la acción del ácido acetilsalicílico, un poderoso analgésico con propiedades antiinflamatorias y para controlar la fiebre, el cuál se combina con la sulfadiazina un medicamento antibiótico con capacidad de detener el crecimiento de las bacterias, lo que ayuda a que el sistema inmunológico pueda eliminarlo de forma rápida y eficiente del cuerpo.
¿Para qué sirve Agin?
Es indicado para enfermedades como:
Amigdalitis una enfermedad muy frecuente en la infancia que se caracteriza por la inflamación de las amígdalas palatinas que provoca dolor de garganta, dificultad para tragar y fiebre que puede ser de origen viral o bacteriano.
Faringitis, es la inflamación de la garganta o faringe, a menudo causada por bacterias como S. pyogenes.
Artritis; es la inflamación de una o más articulaciones que cursa con dolor, rigidez y pérdida de movilidad.
Presentaciones y forma de administración.
Pastillas masticables 300 mg en 1 Caja con 20 unidades elaboradas por laboratorio Nordin.
Dosis Recomendadas por Edad.
Niños mayores de 12 años una pastilla masticable al día.
Medicamento su uso no se recomienda en menores de 12 años.
Adultos una o dos pastillas masticables al día, según indicación del médico.
Siempre debe ser recetada por un médico.
Agin se encuentra en una única presentación en pastillas masticables, sin embargo lo más recomendable es que no las mastique, sino que debe colocar una pastilla entre el paladar y la lengua hasta que esta se disuelva, ya que de esta manera se absorberá mucho más rápido.
Las dosis recomendadas varían de acuerdo a la gravedad de la condición y deben ser establecidas por el medico de acuerdo a las característica individuales.
Los beneficios de Agin comienzan apreciarse luego de unas horas de tratamiento, además es importante que no exceda la dosis máxima de 800 mg al día para evitar posibles efectos secundarios.
Agin Precio.

Contraindicaciones y advertencias.
Generales:
Agin está contraindicado en pacientes con insuficiencia cardiaca, y debe ser usado con precaución en pacientes con tendencia al sangrado o hemofilia, insuficiencia renal o hepática, así como en aquellos con alteración en los tiempos de coagulación y mujeres durante la menstruación, además es importante evitar su uso en enfermedades virales como dengue ya que puede llegar a empeorar el cuadro.
Alergias o hipersensibilidad.
Este medicamento no debe ser consumido por aquellas personas que hayan presentado hipersensibilidad al ácido acetilsalicílico u otros analgésicos antiinflamatorios no esteroideos (AINES).
Mezcla con alcohol.
No se recomienda mezclar este medicamento con alcohol, ya que puede llegar a provocar alteraciones en su metabolismo.
Mezclar con otros medicamentos.
El Agin puede interactuar con medicamentos como heparina y warfarina facilitando la aparición de hemorragias, además fármacos como el diltiazem, la eritromicina (macrólidos) o el fluconazol pueden alterar su concentración plasmática.
Efectos secundarios.
La mayoría de las personas aceptan muy bien Agin a dosis terapéuticas. Sin embargo un 10% de los pacientes que lo consumen pueden llegar a padecer las siguientes reacciones adversas
Gastrointestinal: Vómito, nauseas, dolor de estómago, diarrea.
Sistema nervioso: Dolor de cabeza.
Asimismo, pero en menor proporción, cuando se usa el medicamento durante mucho tiempo, es posible que aparezcan efectos secundarios tales como:
Sistema digestivo; Gastritis, ulcera péptica.
Sistema nervioso central: Meningitis aséptica, alteraciones visuales reversibles.
Alteraciones en la sangre: Anemia, disminución de las plaquetas.
En la piel y anexos: Erupción cutánea, edema.
Sistema respiratorio: Broncoespasmo, pólipos nasales.
Es importante que ante a la aparición de alguno de estos síntomas visite a su médico de forma inmediata.

El midazolam es un medicamento que se les da a los niños antes de realizarles ciertos procedimientos médicos o antes de anestesiarlos para una cirugía, a fin de inducirles el sueño, aliviar la ansiedad y evitar cualquier recuerdo de este evento.
El midazolam pertenece a una clase de medicamentos llamados benzodiazepinas.
Actúa al hacer más lenta la actividad del cerebro para facilitar el relajamiento y el sueño.
¿Cómo tomar el midazolam?
El midazolam se presenta en forma de jarabe para administrarse por vía oral. Por lo general, un médico o una enfermera administra una sola dosis antes del procedimiento médico o la cirugía.
¿Cuándo usar el midazolam?
Antes de usar midazolam:
dígales al pediatra y al farmacéutico si el niño es alérgico al midazolam, a otros medicamentos o a las cerezas.
dígale al pediatra si el niño está tomando ciertos medicamentos para el virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH), como amprenavir (Agenerase), atazanavir (Reyataz), darunavir (Prezista), delavirdina (Rescriptor), efavirenz (Sustiva, en Atripla), fosamprenavir (Lexiva), indinavir (Crixivan), lopinavir (en Kaletra), nelfinavir (Viracept), ritonavir (Norvir, en Kaletra), saquinavir (Invirase), y tipranavir (Aptivus). Es probable que el médico decida no darle midazolam al niño si está tomando uno o más de esos medicamentos.

E. S. ); fluvoxamina (Luvox); ciertos medicamentos anticonvulsivos, como carbamazepina (Tegretol), fenobarbital, y fenitoína (Dilantin); metilfenidato (Concerta, Metadate, Ritalin, otros); nefazodona; ranitidina (Zantac); rifabutina (Mycobutin); y rifampina (Rifadin, Rimactane).
Es posible que el pediatra necesite cambiar la dosis de los medicamentos del niño, o vigilarle estrechamente por si presentara efectos secundarios.
Muchos otros medicamentos pueden interactuar también con el midazolam, así que no olvide decirle al pediatra todos los medicamentos que esté tomando, incluso aquellos que no aparecen en esta lista.

tenga presente que el midazolam puede provocar mucha somnolencia en los niños y afectar su capacidad para memorizar, pensar y moverse.
No permita que su hijo monte en bicicleta, conduzca vehículos o participe en otras actividades que requieran su total atención, al menos por 24 horas después de la administración del midazolam, y hasta que los efectos del medicamento hayan desaparecido. Vigile a su hijo atentamente para cerciorarse de que no sufra caídas al caminar mientras esté bajo el efecto del medicamento.
tenga presente que el alcohol puede empeorar los efectos secundarios del midazolam.
¿Qué dieta especial debo seguir mientras tomo este medicamento?
No permita que su niño coma toronja (pomelo) ni beba jugo de toronja mientras esté tomando este medicamento.
¿Cuáles son los efectos secundarios que podría provocar el midazolam?
El midazolam puede provocar efectos secundarios. Avísele al pediatra si cualquiera de estos síntomas es grave o no desaparece:
náuseas.
vómitos.
sarpullido.
Algunos efectos secundarios pueden ser graves. Si su niño presenta alguno de estos síntomas, llame a su médico de inmediato:

What is Selenium?
Selenium is a mineral found in soil, water, and some foods. It is important for making many body processes work correctly.
Most of the selenium in the body comes from the diet. The amount of selenium in food depends on where it is grown or raised. Crab, liver, fish, poultry, and wheat are generally good selenium sources. The amount of selenium in soils varies a lot around the world, which means that the foods grown in these soils also have differing selenium levels. In the U. S. , the Eastern Coastal Plain and the Pacific Northwest have the lowest selenium levels. People in these regions naturally take in about 60 to 90 mcg of selenium per day from their diet. Although this amount of selenium is adequate, it is below the average daily intake in the U. S. , which is 125 mcg.
Selenium is used for diseases of the heart and blood vessels, including stroke, "hardening of the arteries" (atherosclerosis), complications from statin drugs, abnormal cholesterol levels, and high blood pressure during pregnancy. It is also used for various cancers including cancer of the prostate, colon and rectum, stomach, esophagus, lung, ovaries, bladder, and skin.
Selenium is also used for alcohol-related liver disease, asthma, eczema, enlarged prostate, liver disease, hepatitis C, diabetes, Kashin-Beck disease, low birth weight, muscular dystrophy, pancreas infection, swelling after surgery, itchy and scaly skin (psoriasis), selenium deficiency, blood infection, inflammatory bowel disease, Kashan disease, and Osgood-Schlatter disease.
Some people take selenium by mouth for under-active thyroid, thyroid inflammation, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), an eye disease called macular degeneration, hay fever, infertility, cataracts, gray hair, abnormal pap smears, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), mood disorders, arsenic and mercury poisoning, and preventing miscarriage.
