I’m using my Chinese hake, the paper is wet and I’m mixing burnt sienna into the yellow Gamboge that I have already made as you can see its diluted by dropping some water into the paint. Then coat the paper using sporadic washes leaving the light and then tip it across to see the patterns, movement then lay flat. Depending on how large your painting is I like to stand up to do this if you can’t then sit as close as possible to your artwork.
