About the Song:
From mid-November 1966 to mid-December 1967, Point Pleasant, West Virginia was host to several sightings of a winged, man-sized creature with glowing red eyes that would come to be known as the “Mothman”. The creature was seen numerous times by multiple people, including one incident in which it chased a car away from an abandoned munitions plant outside the town. During this same time there were numerous sightings of strange lights and UFOs, as well as several detailed accounts of encounters with a tall, oddly dressed man who called himself “Indrid Cold”. Cold was also referred to as “the Grinning Man” due to his unusual facial features and tendency to smile ominously at witnesses. This cluster of seemingly unrelated paranormal activity ended suddenly when the Silver Bridge collapsed on December 15th, 1967, killing 46 people. There are no concrete connections between Mothman, Cold, and the bridge collapse, yet many believe that Mothman was a warning or harbinger of the disaster. Creatures similar to Mothman have supposedly been seen either prior to, during, or immediately following other disasters, including the 2001 terrorist attacks in New York and the nuclear explosion in Chernobyl.

About the Song:
This was an attempt to re-create the magic of "Delumination" without being quite as minimal. I don`t think I got there, but this is still a strong dark ambient track in its own right. The distortion at the start lets you know right away that something isn`t right... that you`re probably in for an unpleasant surprise. The fact that the distortion fades and returns at regular intervals (hopefully) builds tension until... well... something unexpected happens. Most of the background noise is just delay and reverb triggered by the strings which are, by the way, NOT playing the same chord progression over and over again. There are subtle differences each time the progression loops, so you never hear exactly the same thing twice, although the distortion may hide that fact.
Exactly what this soundscape is intended to portray is an exercise for the listener. It means what it means to you, regardless what what I had in mind at the time.
