When Taiwan announced it was to drop quarantine requirements for those traveling there, it didn’t take long for me to book a flight there. Since I hadn’t been to Taiwan before, I thought this would be a good opportunity to at least have a look around and to give it my quick judgement on whether I should visit later again or just stay away from it. The high point of my trip - literally speaking for sure - was this visit to the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa tower in central Dubai. At just less than half a kilometer up in the sky, this is one of the highest places in the world, and it's also perfectly well accessible for regular folks like me.
