Raking hay with the 1957 John Deere 420 Utility. This little tractor was recently restored, so it was fun to take it out and work with it for a little while. I was using an old John Deere side-delivery rake to rake two rows into one, later to be baled with a John Deere 4640 and Hesston 4790 big 3x4 square baler. One field was a alfalfa/grass mix, and the other more straight alfalfa. Also contains some GoPro footage. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pDzESZolt0
This video shows some of the activities involved in putting up our first crop of alfalfa, 2020.
First, we cut the alfalfa with a CaseIH WD2303 windrower/mower. Afterwords, it is left for a few days to dry. Once it's dried sufficiently, we then rake it with a Hesston V-Rake, pulled by a John Deere 4230. After it is raked, we let it dry out a few more days before baling. Baling was done with the John Deere 4640 PowerShift pulling a Hesston 4790 large-square baler.
After the hay is baled, we haul it into the sheds. The hauling is done with two loader tractors, a John Deere 4020 PowerShift Diesel, and a John Deere 3020 Diesel. The "haulers" are a Ford F30 with IronBull goose-neck trailer, as well as a John Deere 5020 pulling two old truck wagons (they were originally made out of truck frames).

Springtime in the valley is always very beautiful, and nothing magnifies that beauty like a sunny morning followed by a few days of rain.
The previous days storms with the sun created a nice mist coming off of the dark ground as it heats up in the sunshine.

One of my dog's favorite things to do is to start up and to drive around the A (or in his case, run around). He really gets excited when the tractor starts to fire. He's less focused this time because there was someone standing behind with the camera. It was a beautiful spring day, so I decided to take the opportunity to do so. I also wanted to take the tractor out into the field so I could leave it out there for star photos, which turned out very good as well.

The past few days have been very warm and have received what seems like non-stopped rain. That is very unusual for this area. It has basically turned most of the fields into standing water puddles.
In this video, I am taking the cattle out a bale of hay. Where I fed the cattle was a high spot without any water. Getting there, however, was quite interesting!

In this video I drive out to a field and talk briefly about the John Deere 420 Utility. It was also a good opportunity to exercise the dogs. :)
I also included some footage I took a few days ago where we pulled a wagon with a hay bale on it to feed the cattle with the 420.
The tractor is a 1957 John Deere Utility with under-exhaust.

1939 Model A Radiator Muffler Replacement how-to. This video shows the installation of the radiator, muffler, air stack, and re-assembly of the tractor. As a note--I should have filled the radiator after I re-attached the hoses on the cooling system. I had a leak in one of the hoses, and having the hood off would have made it much easier to adjust. Know that I am not a professional, and you may do things differently or in a different order. I only provided this video for people like myself, as this video would have made it easier for me back when I knew nothing about how to get the hood off and work on the tractor.
