Merry Christmas Edition (2/3)
Since the movie comes out today...
One of the Alabama Hills locations used from the trailer of "Django Unchained". I have already written a blog about this location when I saw the trailer earlier this year: tinyurl.com/cm6p6az
Note: All my location videos that have movie clips in them are done for context on how the location was used and for educational purposes only. My commentary and criticism of the use of filming in these public locations is protected by "fair use" in Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976. If you want to see full movies then you need to buy the dvd(s) or watch them on television.

This was a difficult one to do. The house and barn are no longer there since they were set pieces, so I had to rely on the rocks. You will be able to tell I am in the right area, but as I acknowledge in the video, I was not quite right at the 1:40 mark. What I needed to do was probably move about 10-15 feet to my left. On my blog I have a closer picture to the actual spot:

This is about the exhibit they had at the museum in Independence, CA last year. Norman Clyde was a well known mountain climber with many 1st ascents of Sierra mountains. For a few still pictures and explanation:

About a mile outside of the Supai village. My blog talks about this part of the hike:

The second part of my "Ancient Monsters" series. I will link my blog at the bottom, but a couple of notes:
1)Most of the dates I give are very broad based on a few local library and online sources. I just wanted to get the periods they lived right. So, if you are a hardcore dinosaur person, and I am not as precise as you would like, then sorry. ;)
2)No one knows what these creatures actually sounded like. The sounds are just used for artistic effect.
3)I did not ask, but I am pretty sure the deal with "Thomas" is his real skull is kept in that glass container. The other skull attached to the rest of his real "fossil body" seems to be a model. Keep in mind he is a rare complete T-Rex.

This "Flying Over" series starts something new I am doing with my drone(s). I have a bunch of these I will sharing over the next 6-9 months. Later videos might go over the same areas again, but hopefully it will be a different time of the year, the weather was different, etc.
Music will be somewhat relaxing, but I am not against doing something more intense, heavier, faster, techo, etc. if the mood suits me.
Music taken from:

Happy Halloween! This video was actually done in October, 2019. We did go back to this area in August, 2020 for the "historic" hike we originally intended to do so I will have two more videos of this area. I hope to get those done in the next few months.
Normally, I would say something at the beginning. However, I wanted to create some suspense for this "Halloween Day" video so I did not say anything until near the end so not to spoil a bit of the unknown for those that do not know what this is.
