In the process, they defeated the Demonic Beast Byblos and Leon Byblo, and Sage Broggen got his staff back from Runana. Now, the party will start the Pukret Village substory, which is pretty unique and whimsical. Glen (time 0:29): The party resumes in the church in Glen Castle Town. They go outside and Zoom to Pukret Village. Pukret Village (time 3:30): The party starts by exploring the village for treasure. At E-2, a barrel behind the stall next to the item shop contains Mini Medal #130, counting the 20 Heorot has exchanged so far. In a house at D-4, a wardrobe contains a Pukuripo Hood (プクリポずきん). At B-5, a barrel outside the inn contains Mini Medal #131. In the inn at B-5, a wardrobe in the southern room contains 5 gold. A couple of sparkly spots can be found at D-7 and E-7/F-7 on the southern beach. In the well at F-3/F-4, a red chest at C-4/C-5 contains 3 Medicinal Herbs (やくそう). Outside the Village Chief's House, a barrel at G-4 contains a Medicinal Herb (やくそう). The party enters the Village Chief's House at F-4/G-4. In the eastern room, a wardrobe contains Mini Medal #132. While in the Village Chief's House, the party talks to Village Chief Puklay. Puklay needs Heorot's help with the Festival of Laughter. He issues Quest 099: "Recruiting Judges", the first Pukret Village substory quest. The prerequisite is to have met Sage Horro aboard the train. First, Heorot has to pass a little test. His first objective is to rent a Chicken Cap from the Rental Shop in Megistris. Then, with the cap equipped, he has to talk to three characters: Hipena in Pukret Village, Puproi in her cabin in the Pukret Region, and Paparuppa at Pippi's Inn in the East Orfea Region. The quest's map guidance is not helpful. The party leaves the house and Zooms to Megistris City. Megistris (time 14:15): In the northern portion of town, the party enters the Rental Shop at G-5. Its sign shows a dress. Inside, the party talks to Rental Agent Parno, who is standing opposite the door. They rent the Chicken Cap (ふ化ふ化キャップ) for 100 gold. Heorot equips the Chicken Cap. How ridiculous. The party goes outside and Zooms to Pukret Village. Pukret Village (time 16:35): With the Chicken Cap equipped on Heorot, the party talks to Hipena outside the equipment shop at E-5. That is person number one. The party exits north at D-1 to the Pukret Region. Pukret Region (time 17:39): The party goes to the southwest part of the zone and enters Puproi's Cabin at C-7. With the Chicken Cap equipped, they talk to Puproi within. That is person number two. The party goes outside and Zooms to Pippi's Inn in the East Orfea Region. East Orfea Region (time 19:03): At H-5, the party talks to Paparuppa near the item shop in Pippi's Inn. That is person number three. The next objective is to report to Village Chief Puklay. Heorot no longer needs the Chicken Cap, so he unequips it. The party Zooms to Pukret Village. Pukret Village (time 20:11): The party enters the Village Chief's House at F-4/G-4. Within, they report to Village Chief Puklay. Quest 099 complete! The party earns 2 Urubea Silver Coins (ウルベア銀貨). The party talks to Chief Puklay again. Puklay issues Quest 100: "Single-minded! First Preliminary Round!", the second Pukret Village substory quest. The party's first objective is to defeat Mandrake Mercenaries in the north of the Pukret Region to obtain the Sticky Extract. The party exits north at D-1 to the Pukret Region. Pukret Region (time 23:30): Around D-3 in the north-central part of the area, the party hunts Mandrake Mercenaries (りゅうき兵). After a battle, Heorot reaches Thief Level 60 and earns 2 skill points for a total of 4. He learns the Thief trait Deftness +30. It appears he has also learned a new Smithing ability. After a couple of battles, the party acquires the Sticky Extract (ネバネバエキス) key item. The next objective is to report to Chief Puklay. The party Zooms back to Pukret Village. He also got his Carbuncle's Ruby to experience Orange, Yellow, and Green weather conditions. Now, he will begin Bastok Mission 3-3 and infiltrate Delkfutt's Tower on Qufim Island. Heorot resumes at his Mog House in Bastok. After checking some things, he heads out to the Bastok Mines. Bastok Mines (time 1:01): After donating some crystals to Crying Wind, I.M., Heorot talks to Rashid at H-10. He takes on Bastok Mission 3-3: "Jeuno". Bastok's government has chosen him for the honor of carrying out some tasks in Jeuno. The first objective is to visit Lucius at his office in the Metalworks. Heorot teleports to the Metalworks. Metalworks (time 4:20): In the Presidential Aide's Office, Heorot talks to Lucius at J-9. Lucius first talks about the Trust Initiative. So, Heorot talks to him a second time for a scene. Heorot receives a Letter to the Ambassador to take to Bastok's embassy in Jeuno for further instructions. Heorot next teleports to Ru'Lude Gardens in Jeuno. Ru'Lude Gardens (time 7:35): In Ru'Lude Gardens, Heorot heads to the Embassy of Bastok on the lower level of the Quadrangle and talks to Goggehn at H-10. The ambassador has gone to investigate ... Delkfutt's Tower? What the heck is such an important person doing in a nasty place like that? The scene includes a couple of Jeunans, Wolfgang and Monberaux. That Wolfgang seems a bit high and mighty, doesn't he? Goggehn tells Heorot to check on the ambassador at Delkfutt's Tower. Ooo-kay. And yes, going there entirely solo is not the best idea, though you should be fine with a good assortment of Trust NPCs. Heorot sets his current home point in Ru'Lude Gardens. Then, he uses the Survival Guide to teleport to Qufim Island in the Qufim region. Qufim Island (time 12:40): Heorot arrives at the Survival Guide just outside Delkfutt's Tower on Qufim Island. He heads into the tower. Chains of Promathia Introduction (time 13:28): The first time you enter Delkfutt's Tower with the "Chains of Promathia" expansion installed, a long cutscene takes place to introduce the expansion's Chapter 1: "Ancient Flames Beckon". We get to see Bahamut, ruler of the skies, as Wolfram investigates a situation at Delkfutt's Tower. This starts the first mission, "The Rites of Life". After the scene, we gain control in Lower Delkfutt's Tower. Lower Delkfutt's Tower (time 20:29): Unfortunately, Heorot forgot to pick up the Map of Delkfutt's Tower. They convinced Clive and Catherine to work together. They revisited Orson Shaw in Roseway on Terra 2 and got the Ulti-Nature prototype weapon. On Groundbreaker, they delivered the Alta-Vitae Gas to Lilya Hagen at SubLight and concluded the faction quest "Space-Crime Continuum". She issued her next faction quest, "The Ice Palace", in which the party must salvage space station HRS-1084 for her. Now, the party will climb to the Devil's Peak Station to find the information broker for the main quest "Radio Free Monarch". Monarch Wilderness: The party resumes in the Monarch Wilderness outside the C&P Boarst Factory. For now, they go back into the factory. C&P Boarst Factory (time 1:31): The party heads to the production floor in the west of the factory. There, they find the datapad "Handtyped Note on C&P Datapad". Probably should have dealt with Clive more permanently. The party takes the exit from the production floor to the Monarch Wilderness. Monarch Wilderness (time 3:27): The party operates a terminal and unlocks the factory's western gate. Then, they head east from the factory. They go into the river and pass under the bridge. They leave the river and approach the Devil's Peak Caverns, a fast-travel location. They go inside. Devil's Peak Caverns (time 7:22): The party starts on floor 1/2. There are Raptidons in the dead end to the east. There are also some bodies that may hold some loot. To the southwest, there are Pterorays, flying critters. To the west, after passing under the bridge, the party turns south to find a ramp leading up to the next floor. On floor 2/2, there are Mantipillars and a Mantisaur waiting. After going north across the bridge, the party finds more Mantisaurs and a Mantiqueen. Past them, they find a cave leading up to the northwestern portion of the cave. In the northwest, the party finds a Mega Mantiqueen. Someone is cornered above it. The party can sneak past this monster or fight it. They choose to fight it. This starts the task quest "Mandibles of Doom". The first objective is to speak with Berthold, the man that the party just rescued. The party talks to Berthold Fox, leader of the Corporate Compliance Crew, or C3. This concludes the objective to speak with Berthold. The next objective is to meet Berthold at the camp. He explored the Eternal Forest and underwent the Test of Strength by defeating the Leaf Spirit. He returned to Tsusukuru Village for some final scenes with Lady Himea. Afterwards, he traveled west to the Wind Town of Azlan. Now, I will return to my main character, Heorot, and begin going through each city's substory quest line. I will begin with the substory quest line in Gatara. Glen (time 0:30): Heorot and company resume in the church in Glen Castle Town. They go outside and Zoom to the town of Mount Gatara. Gatara (time 3:30): The party visits the pub. Heorot changes his vocation to Level 52 Thief. Should be a little stronger now with all the universal stat bonuses from other vocations. The party takes the door at C-5 to the Junk Castle. Within, a cutscene with Daston and his first flunky takes place. They find something interesting in the wreckage of the automaton they brought back from the Urubea Underground Ruins: Byan Dao, a prince put into suspended animation thousands of years ago. Byan Dao wants to look for his old master, Liu. Quest 055: "Ancient Prince", the first Gatara substory quest, begins. The prerequisite is to have acquired the Yellow Key Emblem after clearing the Gatara storyline. The next destination is the Urubea Underground Ruins west of Mount Gatara. The party regains control outside the Junk Castle after the scene. They climb up the stairs to the north and make their way up the hill overlooking town. At D-1/D-2, a black chest contains 3 chunks of Platinum Ore (プラチナこうせき). The party Zooms back to the town entrance. Then, in the southeastern square, they go down the well at F-7. The black chest within contains a Sunny Citrine (黄色の宝石). The party returns to the surface. They Zoom to the Urubea Underground Ruins in the Gatara Region. Gatara Region (time 11:33): The party enters the northwest cave at A-2. At A-1, they enter the Urubea Underground Ruins. Urubea Underground Ruins (time 12:03): The party starts at C-7 on floor B1. They gather treasures that they did not collect before as they work their way to the quest destination. At F-5, a black chest contains a Blue Eye (ブルーアイ). The party goes down the stairs at E-2 to floor B2. At H-6, a black chest contains a Magic Beast Bone (まじゅうのホネ). The party goes up the stairway at D-2 to the northwestern part of floor B1. Then, they take the stairs at A-2 down to the western part of floor B2. At C-7, a black chest contains a Gold Nugget (ゴールドストーン). At C-5/C-6, a red chest contains a Gold Nuglet (おうごんのかけら). The party takes the stairway at A-4 down to floor B3. They take the door at C-2 to the target room, the Pilgrimage of the Lost City (亡都の霊堂). This triggers a scene with Byan Dao. Poor Byan. He talks about a certain unscrupulous retainer, Guru Yanrash. We will not encounter that character for several expansions yet, but I already want to slap him. Quest 055 complete! The party earns 4 Yellow Eyes (イエローアイ). The party gains control in the Pilgrimage of the Lost City. They Evac out of the dungeon. Gatara Region (time 25:18): The party Zooms to Gatara. Gatara (time 25:31): The party enters the Junk Castle at C-5. A scene with Daston and Byan Dao takes place. Byan Dao still wants to look for Liu. He issues Quest 056: "Hatred Beyond Time", the second Gatara substory quest. The next destination is the Gulug Underpass in the Gatara Region. The party goes out the main exit at G-6 to the Gatara Region. Gatara Region (time 28:58): At E-5 south of town, the party enters the Gulug Underpass. Gulug Underpass (time 29:37): As the party enters the Gulug Underpass, a scene with Byan Dao takes place. The next destination is the innermost room. After the scene, the party goes through the cave. They take the southeastern door at F-8/G-8 to the innermost room, the Devil's Abode (悪鬼の棲みか). Another scene with Byan Dao takes place. Still no sign of Liu. Quest 056 complete! The party earns 5 bottles of Dowachakka Oil (ドワチャカオイル) and 4 Sunny Citrines (黄色の宝石). The party Evacs out of the dungeon.
