A Bunch of Woke Stuff, then Underappreciated Incarnational Texts
Covered a few miscellaneous developments, such as Hungary’s stand on the family, and then moved to texts that teach incarnational truths but that normally get glossed over, from Mark and from John 6. I had intended to address a particular KJV Only argument, and to respond to some Roman Catholic claims, but simply spaced both as time was short! But, we plan on doing one more program this week (tomorrow, same time), so I will try to get to those then!
Took a brief look at the “coming out” TV interview with “Christian rock-star” Vicky Beeching (sorry—never heard of her till last year, to be honest—is her music in the Trinity Hymnal?). Then I played this amazing video of a giggling Sudanese cleric. Then I demonstrated that I seem to pay more attention to what is actually found in the Muslim hadith while riding a bike in the dark in the desert than some Muslim clerics do! Then we started (briefly) reviewing Ahmed Deedat’s “Crucifixion or Crucifiction?” presentation in preparation for my trip to South Africa. Please help me get there! http://store.aomin.org/travel.html

Just a quick program today from the Mobile Command Center. The audio is better than the video, Rich says. But we did manage to discuss sermon preparation and the theology behind it in light of current discussions, shall we say. Hope to do another program tomorrow, this time from a remote location on the road! The testing continues! Visit the store at https://doctrineandlife.co/

My article from yesterday garnered a lot of response, much of which I found highly disturbing. We talked about the issues raised by recent ISIS atrocities.

Pastor Jeff Durbin joined me in studio today 1) for a celebration of color thanks to Coogi sweaters and 2) to respond to a video by Noah Adam. Nearly two hours and twenty minutes of discussion of apologetic methodology, theology, and truth. We hope you find it useful---and colorful!
Spent the first 70 minutes or so contrasting two videos on Islam, one from Talk Islam decrying the violence in Paris, the other the newest ISIS promo video which I call “ISIS Hollywood.” Lots of discussion of sources, interpretation, etc., especially in light of the ridiculous accusation that honestly recognizing differences amongst Muslims makes you “soft” on Islam. Then toward the end I talked a bit about the gene-editing CRISPR issue and how the Christian worldview is relevant to how we think on such things. We plan on being back on tomorrow to look at a Paul Copan article and more.

After some brief comments about some of the insanity in the world at the start, focused the rest of the hour upon the comments made by Tim Staples on yesterday's Catholic Answers Live program where he talked about Mary and her role as co-redemptrix. Important stuff during this 500th anniversary of the Reformation!

Didn’t bother starting off the year quietly as over the holidays a number of internet-based ministries were throwing out the hate against me for my relationship with Dr. Michael Brown. In the process a number of articles were posted that displayed the same kind of “let’s not worry about thinking clearly, let’s surely not even ponder being fair, but let’s throw everything including the kitchen sink in here in hopes something will stick” kind of yellow journalism that I have been subjected to for years. Since specific allegations against Dr. Brown’s Christology were included, I contacted him and asked him to come on the air, which he graciously agreed to do. We ended up talking about a lot of stuff, including the allegation that he is a “NAR super apostle,” defends “grave sucking,” and all the rest. During the program, Pulpit and Pen, C3ChurchWatch, EBCMinistries, CrossRoads Radio, and Richard Haas (a P&P contributor) all worked together to do a tweet-storm with the hash-tag “ElephantRoom3.” The fact that it is dishonest to even connect the events with Jakes and this discussion with Michael Brown does not bother these folks—the Inquisitors who turned the cranks on the racks in the dungeons of the Spanish Inquisition believed themselves to be doing the work of God. When you live in the narrow, small world of the ultra-orthodox, where everyone must look like you and act like you and speak like you, you have no perspective from which to be able to see your utter lack of balance. In any case, an open and honest conversation that, for those with ears to hear, should be helpful, and challenging. Visit the store at https://doctrineandlife.co/

We opened the phone and took some calls, such as on the canon of the Greek Septuagint, and whether we are in constant sin because we do not love God perfectly. Then we looked at some numbers relating to the current panic relating to the pandemic, and then moved back into the in-depth analysis and refutation of Ken Wilson's Oxford dissertation. We will be moving to his concluding claims soon, and then a summary refutation will be offered as well. Stick with us! Visit the store at https://doctrineandlife.co/
