One of the most well known combinations of a treble bleed mod is a capacitor plus a resistor in parallel, each of varying values depending on the guitar and type of pickups. Finding the right combination is a journey on it's own.
PRS guitars are known for using a simple 180pF capacitor all across the board, nothing else.
Which one sounds better? How well do they work with single coils or humbuckers? How do they react when on clean or distorted? The same or different? Better or worse? Here's a little shootout.
Same guitar, same amp settings. Pickups are Dimarzio Area '58 in the neck and a Dimarzio Super Distortion T (stacked single coil) in the bridge.
I've had a RockRabbit vintage titanium bridge with Gotoh In-Tune titanium saddles on my tele for the past 6+ years and decided to try a bridge with individual saddles instead. So I bought a Gotoh modern tele bridge with chrome plated brass saddles and did a little shootout.
Going into my iRig HD2 into the nolly plugin, same clean (with some effects), same dirty settings, same riffs, different bridges. Pickups are Dimarzio Area 58 in the neck and Super Distortion T in the bridge.

Here's another one of my all time favs from KSE! Using a close to stock recto modern patch with a 808 overdrive on the AX8.

Had to make my own bass track, which was just the Strandberg's 3 lowest strings tuned to CGC, then dropped an octave via the Digitech Drop pedal into a clean '59 bassguy preset.
Used Moke's acoustic preset (https://bit.ly/2U9XQ16) and
Garageband's built in choir voices and piano sounds for the intro/outro

In this short video I sweep through my volume knob showing the different textures using my new Washburn N24 Nuno Bettencourt paduk with a Bill Lawrence USA L500XL bridge pickup, Fractal AX8 HBE and Shiva presets.
Sounds killer!

Don't like that muddy neck humbucker? You don't need to buy new pickups right away. Rather, take the time to tinker with the EQ and play around with settings to achieve that tone you want.
In this example I put an EQ in between the amp and cab blocks of my AX8 Shiva preset, tweaked the EQ only (not the amp settings) until I felt I got that bell-like, glassy chime you'd get from a stratocaster neck pickup. No more muddy humbucker!

Well the whole world is pretty much on lock down. So what's one to do?
Buy a guitar, of course!
This is a newer PRS CE 24 in frost blue metallic. I've put in my KGC tremolo and swapped the tuners for a Carbon Fiber tuner set from a small company called Heart & Sound to bring the weight down on this. It was originally 8lbs and change, I have now brought it down to exactly 7lbs.
Feels great, plays great! One more thing I might change is the tone push pull to a push push bridge volume. I don't use the tone pot and my hands usually get sweaty and I end up not being able to grip the push pull.
This is also my first run through of not only the guitar, but also Neural DSP's Archetype Abasi. I'm debating whether or not I should get the Nolly or the Abasi pack.

Wired an old Seymour Duncan SH-8 Invader I had just bought used decided to do a little shootout. I toggle between bridge position, middle position and neck with just the neck pickup in a coil split with the bridge in series. Love this mix for clean sounds!
