I still stand by this. Dubs are not inherently bad, or even inferior. Each one is its own product, and can be equal, inferior, or even superior to the original, on its own merits. To write them ALL off as lesser by virtue of simply being in English is to be stuck in the Harmony Gold/DiC/4Kids era. Even modern Funimation, for all of its faults, puts out quality dubs when they're not being toxic buffoons.
I had reached GX in my YuGiOh re-watch, and uh...yeah. Nobody I ever knew as a kid would say "Chillin' out with the crew in the schoolyard", you dumb boomers.
"Now as much as I do actually enjoy this cheesy and just plain bad dub, I can't stand the opening. Just...seriously? I even thought these lyrics were faggy when I was 11 and couldn't get enough of the show." - 8/24/2013
I wanted to try something cinematic with this one, and limited myself to just using episode 8 of Hellsing Ultimate. Personally, I think it's quite the successful experiment. I even carried some of what I did here over into my next Hellsing video, which would come a little over 2 years after this.
I don't dislike Robbie Daymond as Mamoru, but I'll never not want to hear more of Crispin Freeman. I still like this one, even though what we ultimately got works just fine.
