“THE TRICK TO WEEPING BENDS”-The Pre-bend”-Bending Basics #4. A STRING ‘EM UP Short #guitartutorial
@stringemup5941 The pre-bend gives us a way of bending a note DOWNWARD!! This is definitely a technique to add to your arsenal of bending tricks. Have fun watching me "vocalize" the bends--I'm sure I look really cool doing so. Actually, vocalizing the licks you're playing is a great way to shape and add some voice-like interpretation to your playing! Slainte, DVH ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR8r0vQTHYY
This video deals with the Cycle of Fourths (Circle of Fifths) as an organizational tool for learning the placement and sequencing of power chords, barre chords, shell chords, and even combinations of open AND barre chords. There might be a lot here to wrap your head around, but the material really IS pretty straight forward. Please let me know if this helps you navigate around the fingerboard!
Cheers,

Howdy! “PARTIAL” barre chords again, this time, Asus2 shape. I should mention that you can think of each of these final chords as A and D chords over an E major CHORD—polychords!! But I’m limited inside of 60 seconds, so I HOPE everyone reads this!!!

Howdy! I'm reposting another older video. This is an important topic simply because SO many guitarists hate capos, and berate the guitarists who use them as "cheaters"--simply because they don't understand how, why, and when to use one. I also address basic transposition concepts, so this is a must see for newer guitarists!
Thanks for watching, and humoring me in my endeavors--It's greatly appreciated!

What's up? This turnaround takes almost NO effort, sounds great, and you can begin using it instantly--but don't OVERUSE it. This turnaround works with shell chords, barre chords, and comping chords, so it's usable in blues of all styles!!

Hey Everyone!! Here's a quick recital from the students of the UAFS Guitar Studio featuring the Guitar Quartet, the Guitar Trio, and solo performances from each of the guitar majors. Jeez, this has been a tough year, and I'm glad we could present something to cap the year off!!!! Each student has done a heckuva job considering ALL the obstacles the past calendar year has given us! I think next year, even when we can do live recitals again, that we'll STILL do an online recital just like this EVERY semester!!!! Thanks for watching!!!!

Hey everyone! The beard is back for the weekend. This is an older video that I abandoned because I didn't think it was too great. But when I revisited the clips I realized that it was better than I remembered--so I edited it together, and I hope newer guitarists can get some benefit from it. Hopefully other instrumentalists will get something out of it too, and begin to learn to improvise some blues solos (we need more salty violinists, flutists, oboists, etc). These are the most basic, beginning steps of blues soloing, so don't expect any bends, slides, different beat groupings, etc. Don't expect to sound like your favorite guitarists yet... We will discuss some of those other elements in future videos.

Howdy! This is an older video I always liked but it didn’t do well at all—so I decided to repost it and see if it would do any better the second time around. Besides, I’m grading 75 Humanities final projects and I don’t have much time to shoot anything at the moment…
You hear country players play these lines all the time, but when you consider ACE Frehley, Joe Walsh, and Jimmy Page played these types of lines, well, you can make them work when and where you want.
Please like, share, and subscribe—thanks for playing along. On the way to 500 subs!!
