For today's video I talk about basketball recovery for game day or tryout. It is very important to have a proper rest day the day before your first game or tryout. I explain that their is a specific way to structure a day like this, and how it is a bad idea to completely relax the whole day.
If you can set yourself apart from your opponent (even if it is slightly) then it is best to take full advantage of it! Have a well thought out day, and maximize your potential for your game!

In this video I show you 9 different hand eye coordination drills, that is going to help your basketball dribbling/ball control, reaction time (tip passes on defense), and shooting accuracy. Today I show you guys another basketball film study from one of my game films back in high school. Basketball analysis is one of the must important elements when improving your game. Try to get your own game film, but if you don't have your own you can do the same process by studying an NBA player of the same style of play as you.
Slowing things down and looking and the little details of your game is how you really breakdown your basketball game. A lot of it is basketball awareness, but looking at these things over and over will dramatically improve not just your awareness, but a lot of other aspects of your game.

These are some of my favorite drills that's going to increase lateral quickness for basketball. One of the best drills for lateral movements, when it comes to basketball, is the skater hop. There are tons of different variations for this drill, in this video I give a quick rundown of the way I like to progress this agility exercise.
We are trying to put our body in a vulnerable situation, by hopping laterally on a single leg and being able to control the landing and quickly change directions.
The landing is key with this drill, you want to make sure to have a quality landing before changing directions. If you speed through practicing the landing process, that can create a lot of bad habits and you will never truly be in control over your foot work. Once you have mastered the landing then you can focus on speeding it up.

Ankle sprain is one of the most common injuries in basketball. I wanted to give you guys some of my best tips to help prevent an ankle injury. I also give you some of my favorite stability exercises that will strengthen the ankle joint, which is going to cause a lot more support in that area.
I also talk about some in game tips for lowing the risk for ankle sprains. Things that helped me avoid these injuries when I played, I had these injuries every now and then but not as bad as most athletes. I couple psychological things to think about as you are playing the game as well!
